Made this little jam last night. It will be recorded when my Mac is back from repair as I think it has lots of potential for some melancholic film scores.
To begin, I used the @empress_effects Zoia and this patch it came bundled with, I forget the name but it’s beautiful, and ran it out into the @bossinfoglobal DD-7 set to reverse, and then the RV-6, which has a shimmer setting. This is to help things poke through and trigger the pedal sends.
I added in the Slicer periodically to trigger the delays and add some cool little moments. It was too much to have it on all the time.
Speaking of which, I have my two @palmer_germany Daccapo reamp boxes set up to feed two separate chains of @walrusaudioeffects pedals.
For a warbling low drone, I have the ARP-87, and SLO. I did this with the secret tremolo setting, and then the low octave in the SLO.
The other setting consists of the Fable, and Lore, and I used this to make a higher pitched sound that’s not quite random, but isn’t stable either.
I then sent all of this out to my @drawmerpro 1978 set to limit the signal as I sometimes get carried away and things get lout.
I tried out a few eq choices with the @soundperformancelab Qure, and flipped between red and blue silk on the @rupert_neve 5059. I think I went with blue in the end.

Having a little play around the other day with the @pioneerdjglobal DJS-1000, and RMX-1000.
I had a drum loop coming into the mixer, and sent it out to both the RMX, and the @hologram_electronics Microcosm.
I had the Microcosm as a separate layer, and when I turned up the filter sweep on the DJS, it also brought up the Microcosm’s layer. This meant I could have a bit of fun creating some drops with the RMX too.
I had some of the Microcosm sent out to the Zoom reverb, and this left some subtle, though nice trails.
I also had the @rolandglobal Gaia playing a loop too, and I kept this separate from any filtering.
It’s nice playing around with gear and seeing what happy accidents you can find.
Everything went out via the @drawmerpro 1978, @soundperformancelab Qure, and @rupert_neve 5059.

I have been slapping all sorts of pitched goodness through the @hologram_electronics Microcosm lately, and I am still scratching the surface of this monster pedal. That and it makes my @empress_effects Zoia come alive!
Anyway, I wanted to try on some percussion, and so the only available option was to use some samples from the @pioneerdjglobal DJS-1000, which is loaded with some amazing samples to mangle!
After some messing around, I decided that the warp setting, with no space, very few repeats, and lots of activity, with very fast speeds created a really cool texture, that sounded really good when sent to the Zoom multi fx.
Really enjoyed blending the original too!
I found that a little saturation from my @drawmerpro 1978’s saturation control really brought out some detail, and the @palmer_germany PAN16 sounds amazing when bringing the Microcosm channel back in.
I toyed with using the @rupert_neve 5059’s blue silk however, after tweaking the @soundperformancelab Qure, I found that the red silk worked better.
Really enjoyed how the Microcosm produced sounds that I had t associated with it, and how cool it can be to discover all the strange sounds it can produce.

Another little jam I recorded after transporting plants and braving the wind mucking out a a very demanding horse.
I have my guitar signal split via the @ehx Tri Mixer with a channel sent to the Harrison mixer for some subtle reverb, and a bit of thickening, then the other signal went to the @earthquakerdev Plumes, and @bleakdistrictelectric Miraj.
I sent some of that signal out to the @pioneerdjglobal RMX-1000 for a delay, that is then itself sent out to the Zoom multi fx for reverb. Gives the guitar some space, and also keeps its focus as well.
I then sent a large portion of the plumes guitar to the @hologram_electronics Microcosm and have been playing with the Mosaic patch number 4, with only a little bit of the reverb added. Really nice to hear the delay repeats coming in and out at various pitches.
I have my @rolandglobal Gaia and @bossinfoglobal Slicer providing some drone, and rhythmic content.
All re-amping and DI provided by @palmer_germany via the Daccapos and Pan16. Really glad I hooked that DI up to the mixer!

Testing out the group inserts and channel eq, on my @soundcraftmixers LX 7 ii.
I’ve taken a loop from @spitfireaudio Labs, and have left the console emulation on from @slatedigital because it sounds nice.
So, I hit the console, then I bus out to the group, where I’m trying to get the kick to tickle the top of the meter, not over do it, but add a touch of character to things, before I slam the @drawmerpro 1978, and then back it off a touch.
I’m still tinkering with the patch bays and whatnot, though I did find a solution to the master insert not working, I biased everything out to the @rupert_neve 5059, and used its insert as a master insert. I also get access to the silk controls too.
This works really well if I want to add analogue processing to the master though, I will most likely, for now, use the -978, and @soundperformancelab Qure on drums, as they sound the best there.
I do intend to fill in the empty rack space with nice processing boxes at some point.
So, that’s a problem solved and I have checked some of the routing as well.
Still can’t work out why the channel inserts are being dickheads though, in my experience, it will be because I’m the dickhead, and missed something very simple.
Still, I’m finding that I will quite like working with a console, and now want a giant one.

Here on the left is the reason I haven’t posted much lately.
@soundcraftmixers LX 7 ii.
Took the absolute piss getting it al hooked up, and I’ve still got some half-normal patch bays I can’t de-normal. I may have to send back and get other ones as I really want to be able to use the channel inserts and these patch bays are on crack.
Anyway, here I have a little jam going on, testing the sends and returns.
I have my @solidgoldfx beta, @warmaudio Centavo, @tcelectronic Nether, @bossfx_us ODB-3, and Mojomojo for pedals, going into my Rooster, and @uaudio 1176.
This is bussed to the master.
I then have on sends 1&2, my zoom multi fx for a big sounding reverb.
On 3&4, I have my boss DD-7, set to modulated delay.
On 5&6, I have my @pioneerdjglobal RMX 1000 set to an echo, and I have turned the Add up on the mids.
I brought the reverb back on a stereo return, the delay back on channels 16&17, and then the RMX back on one of the stereo channels.
All sounding good so far.
I tested the group inserts with some drums and they work fine, just the master inserts and channel inserts I need to figure out.
Anyway, I’m excited to see how this mixer opens up the possibilities for using the gear I already have, and what needlessly complicated fix routings I can come up with.

I did spend a great deal of time working this out and decided to record it so I can remember it, practice, and then re-record it when I’ve got the hang of it.
Quite like the general idea, though I may tweak it a tad.
I have my @solidgoldfx Beta as my first tone pedal, then into my @markbassamps Compressore for some light compression, into my @warmaudio Centavo for overdrive, @bossinfoglobal BF-3 for super subtle flagging, @walrusaudioeffects ARP-87 for digital delay, and the Lore for some beautiful reverb.
I hit my DAV, @uaudio 1176, and @presonus Eureka.

Working on some pedal combinations for various quotes tones for something new and @derek_johnson88 are working on.
I say working, we imbibe a fair amount and then struggle to play in time but it’s a process that’s both cathartic and at times, accidentally productive.
I am using my squire strat for all the sounds.
Firstly, I have the @bossinfoglobal Blues Driver on a fairly low gain for the muted/chords part.
I want to be able to play fairly clean single notes, then dirty up the chords.
I have my @tcelectronic Echobrain set to slap delay, and this feeds the @gamechanger_audio Light Pedal.
I have that set to a higher frequency setting, with just the optical setting in and have shortened the tail a bit too.
My next setting is for lead tones and I am using my @earthquakerdev Plumes in place of the blues driver, and the @walrusaudioeffects ARP-87 for a lo fi delay, in place of the echobrain.
For the final sound, I have the Kangra with its fuzz on, and the SLO set to dark, and fully wet.
For all of my dirt sounds, I have the Mojomojo after them all, to take off some of the fizz, and add some low end.

Synth processing this evening.
Initial sound from @spitfireaudio and sent out via @palmer_germany Daccapo.
@gamechanger_audio Light pedal into @walrusaudioeffects Kangra for its filter. I set this to envelope, and tuned it with the Daccapos volume.
Next I hit the @ehx Tri Mixer and have the first two sends as overdrive sends. I wanted something to excite a later reverb, and pull up the light pedal and filter sounds too.
I have the @earthquakerdev Plumes and @tcelectronic Mojomojo on one, and @bossinfoglobal Blues Driver on another.
@Boss flanger and @oldbloodnoise Minim on another for some reverse action.
All this into the @jimdunlopusa MXR Bass chorus and then out into the ARP-87, and SLO. The SLO provides the huge ethereal reverb sound I was after for this.

Couple of things going on here.
I’m using the @walrusaudioeffects Kangra for its filter as the main sound.
I have the resonance all the way up and the cutoff mostly the way down.
I have the sensitivity at about noon and it’s set to envelope.
I really like how you can get such a variety of sounds by altering your dynamics when playing.
This filter is one of a couple of filter effects I have and I really want to try them in parallel…
Anyway, the first sound then has the ARP-87 set to analogue mode and SLO set to dream.
My @overwaterbasses Progress has always sounded lovey with delay and reverb on when playing chords and really responds well to playing dynamics.
The second sound, is just the Kangra filter and I do a little slapping riff I’ve been noodling about withal day.
I really like how the filter closes as I side down the neck at the end of the video.
