***UPDATE***

We have kept the page quiet for a while due to there being no news on the sale of the former Rolls-Royce site. For anyone unaware Bain Capital finalised the sale yesterday (15/09/22). We appreciate everyones patience as this has been a very long process.

ITP Aero has told us they predict a positive future for the site, they have took on new starters and apprentices recently with more expected to come.

We do not have any certainty from Bain Capital as they are yet to visit the site. But we remain ready if they try to throw a curve ball our way. The Basque government fought hard to secure Spanish jobs and work with the sale (which they have succeeded in), while our local M.Ps have given us the message of "We will keep an eye on the situation" and very little else.

Many people have given decades of service to the site which has been DISPOSED of by Rolls-Royce. We hope the years of service and innovation such as the site serving as an airbase during the second world war and the Flying Bedstead which helped launch verticle take off/landing wont be forgotten.

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the local Hucknall and wider communities for your support over the previous months, we intend on doing all we can to make sure the Aerospace industry remains in the Hucknall community. And again THANK YOU for your support.

Mark Spencer is visiting the ITP Aero UK site (formally Rolls-Royce Hucknall) tomorrow.

We hope he uses the time he has here to speak to the workforce and his constiuents who voted him in to hear their concerns and opinions of the site being owned by Spanish and American investment consortiums. Hopefully it isnt just a photo opportunity with management to shake hands and for them to voice their opinions.

We want the site to provide jobs to the hucknall and surrounding communities for years to come. To keep the aerospace industry within hucknall to provide jobs for current and future generations.

Rolls-Royce has agreed the £1.5 billion sale of ITP Aero to the new consortium to boost its own finances.

The ITP group (which includes the former Rolls Royce Hucknall site) has been bought by Bain Capital Private Equity, and a consortium of investors. The consortium includes interests to be held by Spanish co-investors SAPA and JB Capital.

Below is the new boundary for what is now ITP Aero UK. Also pictured below is what used to stand as Rolls-Royce Hucknall. The site has been chipped away at over the decades and is now a fraction of what it used to be. Employees still have no job security or gurantees to protect work.

It seems likely the Basque government has set out what it planned to do.

Meanwhile formally Rolls-Royce Hucknall requires gurantees to secure jobs and work for current and future generations. We want to secure the aerospace industry in Hucknall which has already provided decades of service and innovation.

The Basque government continues to fight for its workers. We still feel Hucknall has had little to no support other than responses such as 'We are keeping an eye on the situstion' Why arent local MPs and the government fighting to make sure the aerospace industry remains in hucknall?

Fire and rehire is very much a possibility when our site is sold and is a disgusting practise used by companies. We still have no securities or guarantees in place for when Rolls-Royce sell the site (they still own ITP Aero).

Over the decades they have slowly chipped away at the site reducing it to a few hangars left standing while houses go up on the sold off land.

Do you think they care about the local community? The jobs people need to provide for their families? What about the families who have provided generations and decades of time to a company who wants rid of the site?

This is very much a possibility for the site once its sold off. Fire and rehire is a terrible practise, companies use it to take advantage of their workforces.

87 YEARS OF HERTIAGE AND INNOVATION.

What has the company done over the years? Reduced the size of the site and sell off the land. Now workers have no job security or guarantees for when the site is sold off to the highest bidder.

Below circled in red is the remaining 5/6/7/9 hangars (the new facility is just to the right of the red box). The rest is gone, knocked down and housing sits on some of it.

Mark Spencer doesnt seem too concerned with the sale of the site. It isnt referenced in this article sadly.

Imagine how shop floor staff felt after seeing this?They worked through the pandemic after being told they are estential workers even though the civil aerospace industry and aircraft were grounded.
