A unique and elite group of teenager's related and friend's in Featherstone High School Southall UK, got together in 1986 and formed a band named WANJARA. 2 best friend's late Jasvinder Singh Dhillon and Lalit Dass Bains the lead vocalists, were writing composing & singing their own song's and writing lyric's for other Punjabi singer's in the market. Wanjara performed live first at school & then family function's becoming more and more confident,making their dream turn into a reality as in summer of 1987 Wanjara began recording their Debut Album "Tere Bin", music by Raju Premi. Finally,in spring of 1988 Wanjara Tere Bin was released into the market with a unique new sound of music vocal's and song's,establishing Wanjara
as UK'S Youngest Punjabi Phangra Band.Gaining instant Love Respect & recognition from the public earned Wanjara fan's & booking's for wedding's and partie's aswell as playing live at Gig's for upto 2 year's - enabling Wanjara to record and release their second album "Wanjara the comeback" in 1990, performing amongst the Legend's of uk Phangra music. Wanjara's dream & team as a band came to it's end in 1993 after performing for 7 year's rocking dancefloor's at wedding's and partie's,charity function's & Gig's across the UK. Jasi and Lali kept their Passion for music burning as Jasi joined Anmol group & Lali enjoyed singing as Wanjara at wedding's & kept composing song's. Tragically in 2000 Jasi suddenly passed away & although Lali was left alone and devastated - their soul's are forever friend's,may Guru rest your soul in peace Jasvinder Singh Dhillon (Jasi Wanjara). RETURN OF WANJARA.....

With all this passion, hard work & determination to Wanjara's credit over the last 31 years, Wanjara has not had any kind of recognition within the UK music industry for their heart warming contribution's toward's Punjabi Folk Music...yet music companies these day's are running a circus making clown's into so called artist's, becoming legends within a year of their 1 release by computer generated vocal's, nudity in video's & totally meaningless lyric's, exploiting and therefore misleading our youth away from our Asian Punjabi Music,Culture,Respect and Dignity! THE SOLUTION.....
