โOur growth has been steady-year-one year and really exceeded our goals well beyond our target; in fact, the last 12 months have been our strongest to-date. We have really enjoyed getting to know our customers and have been rewarded with the most amazing staff. I want to thank the local communities in both Portrush and Ballymena for their support and custom over the past 4 years and look forward to a bright future in both towns.โ

-Townsend Enterprise Park โTurns Up the Flavourโ with Carolyn Stewart NIโ
Leading business hub, Townsend Enterprise Park , has officially welcomed radio broadcaster and award-winning food producer, Carolyn Stewartโs burgeoning business โTurn Up the Flavourโ to the site.
Carolynโs new business unit houses a bespoke 800 square foot industrial kitchen unit which allows her to produce her artisan Jamaican Patty range on a large-scale.
Carolyn, a favourite on U105โs afternoon Bistro show, set-up Turn up the Flavour in 2016 following a life-long love of cooking and Caribbean flavours. The brand, which started with a Caribbean Pickle product, has grown steadily year-on-year and four of her products were recognised at both the Irish Food Awards winning Gold and Bronze and the Great Taste Awards gaining stars, meaning they were graded as โoutstandingโ against 14,000 products from 108 countries. She has since diversified into hand-producing delicious Jamaican Patties which are now sold in delicatessenโs across Northern Ireland.
The move to Townsend Enterprise Park - a charitable organisation whose aim it is to stimulate social and economic regeneration - has allowed Carolyn to up-scale the production of the Patty product allowing her to make up to 300 products per day to meet growing demand.
Carolyn says that the new product was inspired following many trips to Jamaica where she fell in love with the street food. She said: โI have been to Jamaica many times and always absolutely loved their Patty Shacks across the Island, all selling the most delicious, flavorsome and unique patties. I have been on a mission to develop my own take on these for the past few years and am absolutely delighted with our finished product.
โWe spent many months developing the recipes and have honed ours down to four combinations; Beef, Chicken, Veggie and Vegan, all home-made using the freshest local Northern Ireland ingredients. Our new premises at Townsend, w

Little Sunflower Champions Childrenโs Mental Health Week Cross-Border ๐ป
Little Sunflower, a course designed to strengthen childrenโs emotional and mental wellbeing, is this week celebrating Children's Mental Health Week (7 to 13 October 2021) encouraging young people and adults to celebrate their uniqueness and understand more about how they think, feel and act.
Little Sunflower is being rolled out to schools across Ireland, the North and the UK, aiming to help children with their mental health, resilience and self-esteem. The course creator, Sarah Gilbert, has been visiting local Primary schools around the border towns of Newry and Dundalk to share in the spirit of the national week.
She is also to hold a workshop on Wednesday 20th October, in the Mourne Country Hotel, for teachers, principals and educators to share a range of tools which can be used in a classroom setting to identify emotional and mental health issues and showcase manageable ways to help the children.
St Peterโs Primary School in Cloughreagh have fully embraced the course and Mrs OโHareโs P5 class have now performed the Little Sunflower song for Children's Mental Health Week.
Little Sunflower is an early intervention course for six to 10-year-olds, which promotes fun, laughter and song as well teaching resilience and early intervention wellbeing skills through a suite of resources.
The five-week, animated, interactive course gives teachers a range of tools which they can use on a day-to-day basis to help the children with any mental health issues, from colourful characters that face challenging scenarios to teach children how to deal with anxiety-inducing situations.
Sarah Gilbert, founder of Little Sunflower explains: โThis week sees the start of Childrenโs Mental Health Week which is such a relevant and important topic, and particularly at the moment.
โRecent studies show that in the 1960โs the average age for depression was 45 years, in 2018 the onset age wa

Simon Toye, former Executive Chef at Deanes said: โThis weekend marks our first birthday and one which we are very proud to celebrate.
โDespite all challenges we have come a long way in a short period of time. Our overall aim was to create a community bistro in the city which was casual but known for exceptional food and drink.
