An exciting new relationship...

We are excited to announce an exciting new relationship & a new online partner Sport Buddy. We met Chris (Founder of sport buddy) whilst on our UK tour, we got chatting and very quickly realised that together we could do some very good work together, we have lots planned for 2019 & beyond so more details to follow… In the meantime we would like to introduce you to Sport Buddy & share a few words from Chris "The Your Town x SportBuddy partnership excites me for so many reasons. Give Your School The Run Around Grand Finale 2018

What a way to end last week! What an amazing experience our latest "Give Your School The Run Around" has been. We finished the process in style with the grand finale at Robert Barclay Academy where we invited all 10 primary schools that had taken part in the project & the 478 kids came together, got active & celebrated what can be achieved by a community working together. Over the last few months we have visited 10 primary schools around Hoddesdon, they also visited town to meet local businesses & we got creative & learnt about benefits of being fit & healthy, also sharing how important where we live is. The finale saw all 478 kids come together to get active, hear more about the local community & have fun! Great experience & overwhelmed with belief & support of others... seeing this grow from an idea to actually being brought to life and now it’s in 2nd year is encouraging...Such a great project 👌🏻 A huge thank you to everyone who supported us & took part. Your Town On Tour - Our Final Day

So our last 5 community visits... What a way to finish & what a great experience to explore the UK. Our last day saw finish in our home town of Hoddesdon EN11. So much to reflect on, be grateful for & so much learnt. What we saw, heard & felt wasn’t always positive of course. We had lots of reasons why we chose to explore the UK, one of the reasons is we feel we can play our part nationally in making where we live the best it can be & if not, then look at why & work towards creating a mindset of taking part instead of just taking, feeling part of instead of being uninspired to connect. Where we live is where we belong & it’s important that in an age of online connection we get that balance of offline connection & we believe YT can be a tangible local brand that energises the community... we have work to do!
