Why is Nordic Walking so effective for restoring or developing fitness? The secret is in the poles - as you walk and use the poles, 90% of your body is in motion, so you will be exercising muscles you didn't even know you had. As part of the Abingdon Walking Festival this Saturday, South Oxfordshire's Nordic Walking group will be in the Market Place and available for you to talk to. Try some poles yourself and see if this form of walking exercise is maybe for you.
