Too many amazing projects go undervalued and we strive to make sure filmmakers get the recognition they deserve.

🎥THE ONLINE FILM FESTIVAL IS OPEN! 🎥

You can now watch The Last Howl Film Festival’s Online Screening on our website. Just follow the link in our bio!

The online festival will run from 13/05/2022 until 22/05/2022, all official selection films will be screened for audiences to enjoy.

The films will be released by day and will only be viewable until 22/05/2022. On the last day of the festival, we will announce the winners for each category.

The winner of Best Of The Festival, Best Documentary, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Animation & Best Experimental will then be screened in an in-person event at a private venue in London, UK at a later date. The winners will be notified via email with further information as soon as the online festival finishes.

We hope you enjoy this amazing selection of films.

After 17 years, Nicole Costa gets in touch with Iván Ojeda, her old Chilean friend from college. Back then he was a talented theater director and playwright, but it turns out he has reinvented himself. Iván now goes by Monalisa and works as a pr******te on the streets of New York. Intrigued by this transformation, Costa decides to follow Iván Monalisa, a “gender-neutral two-spirit,” in their tough and vulnerable life filled with fleeting sexual encounters and addiction to hard drugs. Nonetheless, Monalisa does continue to write beautiful, raw pieces about life and survival in New York.

A woman arrives for a piano lesson to find her teacher playing a piece that has no name and no ending; she discovers that it is about a former lover whose memory still haunts the younger woman. When it is the older woman’s turn to play, she, too, cannot finish the piece she is playing, which was written by her daughter in the months prior to her death. As both women struggle to articulate their feelings of loss and grief, they realise that the music gives them a means of holding on to, and living with, their pasts. 'Resonance' is a film about memory and emotion - and about the power of music to articulate and give life to the human spirit.
