The Centre for Social Justice has published a report on loneliness and food banks.

As well as highlighting that 39% of those using food banks live alone, and 20% accessing food aid do so because they have no friends or family, we were reminded how important it is to create a sense of community for those that need our vital services. Focus4Hope support some of the most lonely and vulnerable across Calderdale with trips, events, coffee mornings and our social supermarket (to name a few!).

If you know someone who is feeling lonely this Christmas, let them know that we're here for them.

‘‘Twas the week before Christmas…….
From the valley bottom to the tops it’s business as usual!
Please don’t let a closed road stop you supporting our wonderful businesses. ❤️

16/12/2024

ℹ️📍ACCESS TO HEDBEN BRIDGE📍ℹ️ To everyone planning to visit us, you can still get here! There are some road signs set up which are causing some confusion, with no additional signs or information to say that Hebden Bridge is fully accessible from the Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, and Mytholmroyd direction, but the town is open and ready for your visit!

We acknowledge this may already be planned, but we urge Calderdale Council highways to review the signage and to add more detail that we are still accessible as normal from the routes stated. Whilst the updates and communication on the closure are appreciated, this issue is having a detrimental effect on businesses across the Calder Valley and additional signage and information would really help.

Please also support Valley Fuels if you can, they are situated right at the closure point heading towards Todmorden, but are accessible.

Safe travels everyone, and remember, Hebden Bridge is OPEN!❤️

Don’t forget that even though the A646 is closed in both directions at Charlestown there is still lots of businesses open all the route including Murts Motor Centre

We are open as normal!

The full team is in and working.

If you can get your self to Todmorden (recommend via Cragg) from there you can drive past all the road block signs and get access to Murts.
