“My Algorithm hates me”
❌ You do not have your own Algorithm (sorry, you’re not quite that special).
Instagram has thousands and thousands all whirring away... but with only 1 shared purpose in life (read on if you don’t know what that is)
❌ Algorithms cannot “hate”... they’re algorithms, they’re incapable of emotion and they AREN’T targeting your account.
They are either:
(a) confused - because your content isn’t consistent
OR
(b) they just aren’t getting the signals that your content is worth showing.
For Short Term Accommodation businesses, this is the difference between you working for Instagram or Instagram working for you and providing an ROI for your time and effort.
👌 Here’s what the algorithms actually want:
📌 Watch Time – Do people read your full caption or watch your Reel to the end?
📌 Engagement Speed – Do they like, save or comment quickly - or scroll straight past?
📌 Completion Rate – Do they finish your content or bounce halfway?
Instagram’s only goal? Keep users on the app.
That’s why the algorithms exist.
If your content helps do that, it gets shown to more of the right people.
❌ It’s not about hacks, tricks, or trending audio.
✅ It’s about creating content your Perfect Potential Guests genuinely care about.
So stop trying to outsmart the system. Start building one that works with it.
