👇 The 2 most important Instagram Metrics for Hosts & how to combine them into a super-power 👇
Remember your Next Potential Guest’s journey:
Post > Profile > Website
———
Measure these:
1️⃣ TOTAL FOLLOWS (not Total Followers!)
⦁ Go to your Insights
⦁ Total Followers
⦁ Filter by last 30 days
⦁ Note the TOTAL Follows (not ‘overall’ follows)
2️⃣ PROFILE VISITS
⦁ Go to Accounts Reached
⦁ Filter by last 30 days
⦁ Note the Profile Visits (at the bottom)
As a percentage, divide TOTAL FOLLOWS by PROFILE VISITS.
This will give you your Profile Conversion Rate (PCR).
Your PCR will show you how aligned your Content is to your Profile (we don’t want your Next Potential Guest to see a piece of compelling content, head to your Profile & be disappointed, do we!)
_______
😔 If your PCR is < 20%, revisit your Guest Avatar & re-target them. ⤵️
Make sure:
👉 Your Bio is targeted
👉 Your Profile pic is attractive and personal
👉 Your Content is value-adding & Ideal-Guest focussed
👉 Your Highlights provide your Guest Avatar with relevant, decision-informing info, and that everything is aligned.
😎 If your PCR is > 20%, your profile is Kick-Ass!
So focus on getting MORE NEW PEOPLE to it.
To do that focus on:
👉 Different Content Types for different Purposes
👉 Hashtags (keep them hyper-relevant, no fillers)
👉 Collaborate with other local accounts
👉 Point people to your Profile with a CTA such as: 🔗 Check our Link in Bio.

How many Instagram Followers do you have?
And why does it matter?
Here’s a cautionary tale for you:
One of the newest students in my InstaBooked Programme (let’s call him “Michael” to save his blushes) enrolled on the programme with an eye catching 12,500 Followers. “Oooooh...”, said everybody in the Group, “What’s he doing here? He’s smashing this!”
“Michael” had used several giveaways over the previous years and these had proved highly successful.
In growing his account.
The giveaways involved liking the post that he used to promote the giveaway, following his account and commenting on the post.
Those who did this were then entered into a draw to win a luxury weekend away at his property. It was a high value prize... So what happened?
Thousands of people did exactly that. They liked the post.
They commented on it and they followed his account. Someone then won the weekend away and “Michael” was over the moon that he had massively grown his account’s Followers.
The thing is very few people were actually interested in paying money to stay with “Michael”.
They followed his account just to be in with a chance of winning something.
They weren’t interested in the content he was publishing and so quite innocently, they ghosted him.
“Michael”’s posts now enjoy around 25 to 30 likes on average, granted 25 likes on a post was something that I dreamed of when I started out on Instagram. But “Michael”, as far as the algorithms are concerned is now effectively being ignored by his Followers.
His engagement rate is around 0.25%. that’s around a 1/10 of what can normally be expected of an account of this size.
So the algorithms see his content is low value.
Very few of his Followers are engaging with it.
So the algorithm isn’t showing it to many people.
Here endeth the tale.

7 Top Tips:
1️⃣ Nail your Profile – it’s the gateway to your website so it’s gotta be ace if it’s gonna convert
2️⃣ Know your Audience – who are your perfect potential guests? Define and talk only to them.
3️⃣ Consistently does not mean Constantly – You DO NOT need to post every single day. You DO have a business to run.
4️⃣ Always use a Call-To-Action – we give Joe Public too much credit: Tell your audience what you want them to do and they’re MUCH more likely to do it (Save, Share, Comment, Like, etc)
5️⃣ Reach is more important than Follower Count – my guest House (@sandfieldguesthouse) has <1k Followers yet 30%+ of my website’s visits come from Insta
6️⃣ Be Social – Engagement begets engagement - it’s called SOCIAL media for a reason.
7️⃣ Done is better than perfect – Whilst consistency is King… if you’re creating & providing value to your potential guests just hit publish and get your work out there. Perfectionism = Prevarication
