It's that 'in-between' time between Christmas and New Year and I'm not entirely sure what day it is, or how many mince pies I've actually eaten (spoiler - it's tons!)

So I'm making a list of plans for 2025. What do I need to add?

What have you got planned, or are you waiting til the 1st to think about it? Let me know, I'd love to know what your plans are for making next year your best year yet!

Managing an event is no small feat, but when social media starts to eat into your time, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Here’s how you can save precious hours while still making a big impact online:
✔️ Create a content calendar: Plan ahead and avoid last-minute stress.
✔️ Design post templates: Keep your visuals on-brand without starting from scratch every time.
✔️ Repurpose past materials: Breathe new life into old content.
✔️ Build an engagement strategy: Focus on meaningful interactions rather than random posts.
✔️ Have a social media strategy: Know what works and stick to it.
✔️ Hire a social media manager (hint: that’s me! 😉): Free yourself up to focus on the big picture while I handle the details.

Running a festival takes creativity and stamina—don’t let social media take all your energy!

Want to save time AND still have a killer online presence? Let’s chat. DM me today to see how I can take social media off your plate.

Here are some things to help you kick off next year on the right foot.

⚡️ 1. Plan your content calendar early: This will help you stay organized, consistent, and avoid that last-minute stress of scrambling for posts.

⚡️ 2. Analyse what worked this year: Look at your top-performing posts and events—why did they resonate? Double down on what got people excited.

⚡️ 3. Refresh your branding: By doing this, you’ll keep your socials looking fresh, modern, and aligned with your audience’s expectations.

⚡️ 4. Build relationships now: Engage with your audience before you even start promoting—reply to comments, DM past attendees, and show up online consistently for best results!

⚡️ 5. Tease what’s coming: Don’t forget about dropping hints about your next event to build anticipation and excitement early.

⚡️ 6. Get Strategic: Book in a Power Hour with me to get really clear on what you need to do. Or hire me to run your socials for you!

The earlier you prep, the smoother (and more successful) next year will be! 🌟

This is your reminder that you don’t have to post every single day to make your event a success 🤯

The truth?

You can absolutely build buzz, engage your audience, and sell out tickets even if you don’t spend hours glued to your phone.

In fact, by focusing your time and energy on these few things instead, you’ll get there even FASTER:

✅ Create a strong content plan: Know what to post and when to post it for maximum impact.
✅ Promote consistently and strategically: Focus on key milestones like early-bird tickets, guest announcements, and countdowns.
✅ Engage with your audience: Reply to comments, answer DMs, and start conversations—connection builds excitement.

So don’t get hung up thinking you must post constantly to reach your goals. Work smarter, not harder!

Here are 5 top tips to keep the momentum going after an event:

Share Highlights and Recaps 🎥
Post event photos, videos, and highlight reels showcasing the best moments. Share behind-the-scenes content or "Thank You" posts featuring attendees, speakers, or performers to keep the buzz alive.

Gather and Share Testimonials 🗣️
Ask attendees for feedback or quotes about their experience. Turn these into posts, graphics, or stories to celebrate the event’s success and build anticipation for future ones.

Keep the Conversation Going 💬
Engage your audience with follow-up questions like “What was your favorite moment?” or “Who would you love to see next time?” You can also tease future plans or the next event to keep them hooked.

Repurpose Content ♻️
Use event footage to create new posts, carousels, or reels. For example, post speaker quotes, attendee shoutouts, or fun clips that you didn’t get to share before the event.

Offer a Post-Event Exclusive 🎟️
Provide attendees with a post-event thank-you offer, such as early-bird access to your next event, exclusive downloads, or event-related freebies. This keeps people invested in your brand and excited for what’s next!

✨ Pro Tip: Use your analytics to see which content resonated most during the event and keep building on that success!

A page with no personality feels dull and forgettable. 😴

It struggles to connect with its audience, leaving followers disengaged and less likely to interact, share, or remember your brand. Over time, this can result in low engagement rates, minimal growth, and missed opportunities to build trust and loyalty.

Personality is what makes your page relatable and human. Without it, you risk blending into the sea of sameness online instead of standing out as someone people want to follow.

HOW TO FIX THIS - it’s time to show what makes you or your business unique.

Whether it’s sharing behind-the-scenes moments, fun quirks, or relatable stories, your personality is your superpower. 💪

Here are 3 reasons why early promotion is a must for your event, whether it's a large festival, a PTA fund raiser or local community gathering...

👉 Build Anticipation – Tease your audience with behind-the-scenes content, exciting announcements, and sneak peeks. Get them counting down the days until your event!

👉 Reach a Bigger Audience – Time gives you more opportunities to spread the word, boost awareness, and tap into organic shares and word-of-mouth buzz.

👉 Stay Ahead of the Competition – If other events are happening at the same time, starting early ensures your event gets noticed first and grabs attention before the competition does.

💡 Pro Tip: Even simple updates—like behind-the-scenes prep or “Save the Date” posts—can go a long way in keeping your event on people’s minds.

The earlier you start, the better your chances of a sold-out crowd and a memorable event.

✨ Need help promoting your event? Whether you’re organizing a local festival, a carft fair, a yoga retreat or a community arts project, I can:
✔️ Create a custom content plan
✔️ Guide you through a strategy session
✔️ Take over your social media so you can focus on the event

The first time I promoted an event, it was a small local affair and I was struggling with getting the word out within the local community even with a consistent posting schedule on social media - so this is how I fixed it...

1️⃣ Leveraged Local Facebook Groups
I shared event details in community-specific groups

2️⃣ Partnered with Local Businesses
I asked nearby businesses to display flyers and to share the event on their social media,

3️⃣ Used Local Hashtags
I researched and used hashtags like #[YourTown]Events, #[YourArea]ThingsToDo, or #[YourRegion]Festival to reach nearby audiences

4️⃣ Sent Event Announcements to Community Newsletters
I submitted my event details to be featured in local email and print newsletters

5️⃣ Got Listed on Local Event Calendars
I submitted the event to websites like Eventbrite, Meetup, and the town's official events calendar. Then I did the same with libraries, community centres, and radio stations that also had free listings

6️⃣ Engaged with Local Influencers
I reached out to micro-influencers and well-known community members and invited them to the event in exchange for social media promotion

7️⃣ Collaborated with Schools and Community Groups
The event was family-friendly, so I partnered with schools, scout groups, and community organizations to spread the word

8️⃣ Created Eye-Catching Signage
I created large signage posters and banners and these were displayed in high-traffic local spots on busy roads, in coffee shops, libraries, and gym noticeboards and more.

9️⃣ Hosted a Pre-Event Giveaway
I offered free tickets or exclusive perks for sharing the event post or tagging friends

🔟 Engaged with Local Press
I sent a press release to local newspapers, radio stations, and online blogs.

Making these moves meant that the community found out about the event, got behind it, got excited about it and they SOLD OUT of tickets!

Which is your favourite way of attracting a local audience?

Come on guys, give yourselves a break!

If you have an event running over the next 4 weeks then yes, you need to be on the ball and creating new content when the event happens, but if you dont - your events are well into next year, well here's your reminder to set aside some time and make and schedule all those posts in for the next few weeks.

Trust me - you'll thank me (and yourself for listening!) when you are sat back opening pressies and sipping on hot chocolate and feeling smug come Christmas.

Go make your future self happy!

“Tickets on sale now!” Sure, it gets the point across, but it’s not enough to truly grab attention or fill seats.

Here’s the truth: People don’t just want tickets to an event—they want an experience. Something they’ll talk about for weeks, that creates memories, and makes them feel connected, inspired, or just plain joyful.

If you’re running a local Christmas fair, a theatre production, an arts project, or even a festival, you need to go beyond the sales pitch.

Your social media should:
✨ Paint a picture of the event vibe—what will people feel, see, and experience?
✨ Highlight stories from past events—testimonials, behind-the-scenes, or emotional moments.
✨ Build FOMO—early bird deals, exclusive access, and countdowns make people feel like they can’t miss out.
✨ Show them value—what unique memories will they take away?

🎥 Post content that makes them imagine themselves there. Share behind-the-scenes glimpses, glowing feedback from past attendees, or even quick interviews with performers or vendors.

Most importantly: Make it easy for them to say YES. Provide clear ticket links, FAQs, and always be ready to answer questions.

Need help? I can work with you to:

👉Craft a content strategy that brings your event to life on social media.
👉Plan a tailored approach you can implement yourself.
👉Or, take the reins entirely and run your event’s social media for you.

Whatever support you need, let’s make your event impossible to ignore. DM me if you’re ready to connect your audience with an experience they’ll love!

5 - Introduce key team members or volunteers who make the event happen. Add a personal touch by sharing their roles and favourite event memories.

6 - Use polls or question stickers on Instagram Stories to gather feedback about the event—like preferred workshops, music, or food vendors, make your audience feel like they are having a say in your event.

7 - Launch a branded hashtag challenge encouraging attendees to share posts leading up to or during the event (e.g., best costumes, favourite moments).

8 - Share content from past attendees, like testimonials, photos, or videos, to show the community vibe and encourage others to join.

9 - Run a contest for free tickets, VIP upgrades, or exclusive merch to spark engagement and increase shares.

10 - After the event, keep spreading the love by a post-event survey. Ask attendees what they loved most about the event and what they’d like to see improved. Share the feedback loop publicly to show you’re listening.

Save this post for future reference, and then let me know your favourite in the comments!
