We will always be grateful to Hammond legend and James Taylor Quartet frontman James Taylor for finding our amazing Hammond C3 and vintage Leslie Amp. James found them for us in Italy and had them completely restored to their original brilliance. We had given up on them ever turning up, but after nearly 2 years, unannounced, a truck turned up and there it was. James says “This Hammond and Leslie combined with the recording genius of the School Farm team has given me absolutely the best Hammond sound I’ve ever achieved in my brief 45 years of recording. Goodness knows, the instrument comes directly from Silvio in Milan and so the sound from the outset is second to none. But the combination of the room, the mics, the compression and whatever……the end result is the sort of sound I envy when I hear other hammondists getting it together. Power dynamism and silkiness.
