Joe Ogden wins the Film to a Record With Hebden Bridge in the Sunshine. The film shows the members of the Bradford Movie Makers club that made a effort to be there, walking around, of all places, Hebden Bridge, to the music of John Denver - 'Sunshine on my Shoulders'. 'I was trying out the Canon Magic Lantern mod on the old Canon 5D DLSR. However it was proving to heavy for handheld shooting. And the files just, so large they sunk the editing PC. So reverted to the Canon M50. The music was playing on the aeroplane, the last time I flu home from Canada, I was a young man, flying away from the warm sun and the sunshine on my shoulders, also a life that I could have had. Bradford has been okay.' The three judges (behind) said it showed a 'lovely day with friends and fellow members, as well as the camaraderie.' Joe thanks then all. It were a right good night. I had my photo camera and lens so the video quality was pretty poor but you can hear it at least. :-/ well done!

Well done Ben and Alice, and the staff at the Exchange Bar. Bradford, West Yorkshire, for becoming the Bradford CAMER Runner-Up for the inner Bradford, 2024.

Hi Joe,

Thanks again for submitting to the Emerging Spirit competition this year, your support means so much to us as we could not put on this competition without people supporting it directly.

I’m sorry to say we haven’t selected your script on this occasion. For full transparency, we had 27 submissions and it was a really good tough call to get down to the final decision.

We really liked ‘Outside of Heaven’, it was really well written with some great dialogue running through it. It did have a lot of moving parts in it to be filmed on a budget though and that was our main reservation. We have to consider how easily a film will be able to be turnaround as well as the strength of the script.

Dave and I would still love to have you and the BMM involved in the festival again this year, we’re still a bit off working out what we’re doing but we’ll come up with something.
