Last weekend's Radio Licensing Course was a great success with 25 of you passing first time, including one direct to full candidate! We will be running another course in semester 2 if you missed this one.

A license is expected for an on time launch this Sunday! Watch the 5th flight of the starship and most importantly the world's first ever catch attempt of the most powerful orbital class rocket booster ever created. The launch window opens at 1pm UK time. We'll be in 01DK02 from 12pm to be ready.

Tonight we tried experimenting, albeit on a whim, using aircraft scatter to hear radio stations over the horizon on UHF! 📡 ✈️

(Using planes essentially as great big mirrors in the sky)

Lots of this spontaneous experimentation we plan in our Discord server, so if you're interested make sure you are joined! We are always open to people joining and helping out.

Although marginally successful, we know what to fix for the next experiments, planning to iron out all the issues this weekend.

Join us this Wednesday to get hands on experience downlinking real live spacecraft data! 📡 🛰️

From test Slow Scan TV images from the International Space Station, to setting up a receiver to hear the popular Es'hail 2 (QO-100) in preparation for making our own uplink setup, we hope to introduce you to the basics of satellite communication.

Tillingbourne can be quite difficult to find so please use the What3Words address to help identify where to go for a prompt start!

Limited spaces are also only available due to space constraints in the ground station, but we will try our best to make sure everyone who wants to can get involved.
