Monday night at Guildford Games Club saw Spyrers descend into the Underhive for the first time, as Guilders-Ford Radio’s Leigh ran his Orrus, Yeld and Malcadon against Gaz’s Van Saar, while Lawrence’s Escher-affiliated Secundan Incursion Gang went up against newcomer Steve’s Malstrain Corrupted Enforcers.
Following a close-fought battle, here are Gareth and Leigh’s initial thoughts;
G - “Let it be known that Rad is effective against Spyrers, as is Blaze - I think Grav would be good too.
“I think bolt launchers are the way to go for Orrus. Possibly the Volkite (too), but the Disintegration Matrix’s Unstable trait is too risky on a 350+ creds model.
I also think Spyrers will need to make use of their manoeuvrability to catch isolated gangers on the flanks of the rest of the gang.
Much like when I started playing the Nomads, it takes a while to figure out a different play style and despite that the Spyrers nearly came out on top last night... I think they’re pretty good and I’m interested to see how they fare in a 6-game campaign.”
L - “I was being hyper-aggressive as i wanted to see what they could take... you’re right Gareth, if they were up against ‘campaign regular’ weapons like lots of lasguns, they would be hardcore”.
G - “I reckon they need to soften up dangerous CC fighters before charging in though, as a failed charge could prove fatal”.

Monday night at Guildford Games Club saw Guilders-Ford Radio’s Lawrence and new member Josh playtest Rosco’s ‘Sting in the Tale’ scenario.
Josh’s Escher faced off against Lawrence’s Van Saar, both vying to claim a High-Value Cache hidden in the service tunnels, before realising a hive of Co**se Wasps had also taken up residence in the area!
With typical House of Artifice efficiency, Lawrence’s Prime elected to disintegrate the hive with a Melta Gun at point-blank range, but not before whiffing his first shot.
With the Van Saar distracted, Josh’s Escher succeeded in plucking the Cache from its resting place, before running it back to his deployment zone for a win!

Greetings, scummers!
It’s been one hell of a ride, but we got there in the end!
We are finally at the final house gang of Necromunda, the technologically supreme, House Van Saar.
From their origins in the years before even The Great Crusade, Van Saar bring knowledge and powers beyond even those of the most advanced planets of The Imperium and the Lorekeepers have a lot of fun with this one.
We have a robotic spider, who just wants to dance, a Magos of the Adeptus Mechanicus who falls in love with Elmo, Spamuels singing career takes another hit and more gang ideas than you can shake a shock stave at!
We couldn’t have picked a better episode to finish off our first season with and the sheer number of gang ideas coming from this book will show you why Van Saar are the one thing Spamuel always manages to paint.
