Why being witty and absurd might actually make your social marketing worth the attention you crave—because right now, you may not deserve it.

The new feature to limit comments comes after an Australian court ruling that found news outlets are liable for comments on their pages

If you've received positive feedback, SHOUT IT out to the world! Use bright, eye-catching images to share what your customers have said about your product or service, or if you're pushed for time, even a screenshot of the message (with their permission!) can go a long way.

Here's a mock-up I've made for one of my clients (I'm not really selling lipstick!). If you'd like advice on how to go about this for your small business, drop me a message.

If you’ve got a business or a creator account on Instagram, you’ve now got a shiny new “professional dashboard”, which brings all the app’s business tools into one dedicated space.

Instagram is adding a new “professional dashboard” feature that brings all the app’s business tools into a single place.

Facebook has recently started sending prompts to Page admins as a reminder that the 'Our Story' section in the Page's 'About' section will be no more in a month's time.

If you're already using the new Facebook layout, this would have disappeared from Pages when you transitioned over. Perhaps it's not a big deal to you as it wasn't a section you used anyway - but it was a nice place for businesses to share their story (hence the name).

If you did use the 'Our Story' section, you can instead shift your text over to another section called 'Additional Information'. Facebook have not given a tremendous amount of space for this, so best to keep your text short and sweet.

We knew this was coming, but we didn't know when - Facebook will very soon be retiring Page Likes in favour of Followers.

Whilst many businesses will see a dip in numbers (ever 'Liked' a mate's Page through kindness, but then 'Unfollowed'? Don't even think about it 😆), having just the Follower count will be a true indication of those who genuinely want to see your updates. Well, or those who decide to stick it out and put up with your posts, anyway... 😄

On Wednesday, Facebook announced a wide range of changes to its Pages feature. The category allows businesses, publications, artists, and public figures to create a space on the main Facebook platform in order to interact with and update fans.

The last year has shown us that for small businesses, having a social media presence is more important than ever. Not only to reach a wider audience, but to communicate and engage with current customers during this ever-changing climate.

I've been reflective about what I can do and one of the main reasons I've set up this page is to reach out to small businesses. If you're looking to take that next step onto social, drop me a message.

Welcome everyone! In the theme of 'new year, new goals', I have decided to launch this page to promote my freelance work as a Social Media Strategist and Manager.

Despite having worked on websites and social media for the past decade (😱), starting my career at Mumsnet and Gransnet, before going freelance around 5 years ago, I have always hidden behind my laptop.

Over the years, I have worked with various clients, ranging from large businesses to your local start-up. I have helped them to:

👉 Build an online presence and share their story
👉 Interact with their followers
👉 Create eye-catching images and engaging copy
👉 Reach a wider audience

In a bid to push myself out of my comfort zone, here it goes! If you'd like more details on my services, drop me a message.
