National Fostering Agency

National Fostering Agency Getting it right in Scotland
We are committed to improving outcomes for Scotland’s Children. Our agency covers the whole of Scotland, including the Highlands.

We work with more than 130 foster parents and 200 children. We started as a small agency with around 40 carers and have since grown to become a large agency with 138 foster parents, but we have succeeded in retaining our local identity and feel. We’ve been finding loving foster carers to improve Scottish children’s lives for decades. We work hard to build good relationships with local authorities

across Scotland as well as local groups like the Scottish Through Care and After Care Forum. Our aim is to equip foster carers with the skills and support they need to ensure the best possible outcomes for foster children and young people and we’re keen to celebrate all the successes of our children. The team at NFA Scotland is committed to ensuring that foster carers feel supported and listened to. Someone is available to respond to issues at all times of the day and night and, wherever possible, the same person will see things through from start to finish to provide consistency and continuity. NFA Scotland manages its business according to local need and demand, but with the backing of a large national agency (National Fostering Group) behind it. This allows us to tap into a central pool of expert support and expertise, while maintaining an awareness of what our children, foster parents and local authorities need. We pride ourselves on providing a very high standard of care for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children and young people. We achieve this by retaining and investing in our staff and foster carers, ensuring our matching process is effective, and working hard to give our foster children the same opportunities to achieve as any other young person.

It's ! 2025!

Place2Be are leading the charge.
This year is all about exploring ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’ in partnership with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company and the Inside Out 2 characters.

Place2Be is partnering with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company!

Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week has joined forces with Here4You to explore the importance of self-awareness and expressing emotions.

Here4You is supported by The Walt Disney Company, and through the characters of Pixar’s Inside Out and Inside Out 2, the resources encourage children and young people across the UK to discover how getting to know who they are can help them build resilience, grow, and develop.

It's ! 💛

We believe every child deserves the chance to thrive. This week, we’re focusing on helping young people explore the theme ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself,’ empowering them to better understand their emotions and build resilience. 🌱

Martin has recently been awarded our ‘Everyday Hero Award’ by Sarah Supervising Social Worker for Fostering Solutions Wales this is the reason why:

Martin is a highly dedicated foster carer to the two boys he's supporting, he's therapeutic in his approaches and has an amazing bond with both boys. The progress the boys have made in Martin's care is unbelievable. Of course, there's up and downs but Martin is a master at communication, he's in tune with the boy's needs. Thank you, Martin, for everything you do!

Martin received a visit from the Carer Recruitment Officer with a voucher, flowers and a big well done.
