I loved setting up this interview with Remi Olajoyegbe - a co-founder of Medicine Festival - on @BBC Radio 4’s World at One programme yesterday and collating/recording the eclectic sound bites from the festival spliced in with the piece – from wild swimming, rattle shaking tribal elder and prayerful chants in the Peace Temple to uplifting Calypso rhythms infusing the festival’s market place!
You can listen to the piece here 💚

I am really excited to be working with the inspirational Samantha Graham - a high flying CEO turned playwright, who is using the emotive power of theatre to move the dial of gender equity, having discovered an unprecedented epidemic of autoimmune disease facing overworked women of 45+.
I was happy to set up an interview for Samantha this week on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drivetime show, talking about her new play Adaptation: Enough Already, which is currently running at the Edinburgh Fringe. Inspired by the work of trauma expert Dr Gabor Maté, the play warns that we must radically reduce our society’s expectations on women who now account for around 80% of all autoimmune disease cases.
Having witnessed three close friends becoming terminally ill with stroke, lupus and MS, Samantha decided to commit the next stage of her life to addressing this autoimmune issue on behalf of women, and has created a new play format, “TLM”, combining Music, Lecture and Theatre, to transform, educate and move people to instigate behaviour change.
Please check out this clip from her 5 Live interview.

New Follow Your Blissters podcast episode explores the fascinating journeys of award-winning writer and spiritual investigator Mick Brown through the lens of The Hero's Journey.
Special episode of Follow Your Blissters with Serge Beddington-Behrens, The Buddha of Pal Mall.
Patrick Duff's launch event at the weekend for his new memoir, The Singer, at The Abbey House in Glastonbury was quite stunning.
The Singer covers Patrick's journey from homeless teenage busker and addict, through chaotic rock n' roll years as lead singer of 90s rock band Strangelove, and through to his emergence as an inspirited and liberated solo artist, attuned to Nature and the raw power of music.
The launch event saw Patrick perform a mesmerising mix of Live songs, accompanied by young guitarist Woodie Taylor, interspersed with poetic readings from his book, and musings about his life, song writing, music and creativity. The whole thing hung together like an exquisite tapestry - soulful, magical and deeply nourishing. Noone went away without feeling deeply touched.
Here Patrick performs two songs from the night that blended into each other, Land of the Midnight Sun, followed by Evergreen.
I'd highly recommend reading The Singer, more info here:

How can crises in our lives become transformative experiences with the power to change us and make our lives more enriched and deeply fulfilled?
This is the crux of many of my podcast conversations exploring the hero’s/heroine’s journeys of different thought leaders, and today’s new episode with resilience trainer and activist Dr Chris Johnstone is a powerful example of this.
Working as a junior hospital doctor, Chris often worked over 100 hours a week causing him to spiral into depression and a state of extreme exhaustion until a near-fatal car crash provided the needed wake up call that led him to find his power. He resigned from his job, recovered from depression, won a legal campaign to change the working conditions of junior doctors, and ultimately emerged from these “dark years” as an empowered facilitator helping others to both transform their lives and play their part in sustaining our world.

The latest Follow Your Blissters podcast episode is now live, featuring the extraordinary pilgrimage journey of ancestral healer Cali White, as she explored the ancient roots, history, myths and landscapes of Britain, calling ceremonies with women along the way to honour those who were persecuted as witches during the European Witch Hunts (1450-1750).
Cali’s work is dedicated to understanding the historical impact of the Witch Hunts on our collective psyche, and healing the intergenerational trauma inherited from those so called ‘Burning Times’. She is lead organiser and curator of the ground-breaking I Am Witch exhibition which next comes to Bristol in Spring 2023 - watch this space!
