Just back from the Scottish Highlands, and was amazed at how many Rhododendron there were in the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

Some countries do have ambitious policies on the issue, such as New Zealand, which is aiming to eradicate all invasive species from its islands by the middle of the century. I wonder at our current rate, how long it would take to eradicate all invasive species - grey squirrels, muntjac deer, sika deer, Japanese knottweed? It's a tall order.

One fact amazed me - over 50,000 deer get hit by vehicles every year in England.

What should be done about these invasive species?
