"I think you would mess it up for us, the way you have messed it up for yourselves."
Heidi Nordby Lunde, president of Norway's European Movement, pours cold water on calls for the UK to strike a Norway-style deal with the EU.
The politician says it is not in her country's interests to let the UK into EFTA should they crash out of the EU without a deal.
The news will come as a hammer blow to groups like EFTA 4 UK, as it was thought the free trade nations in EFTA would have allowed the UK to join after signalling to Scotland that it would be welcome if it chooses independence.

A senior Labour Party member was forced to make an embarrassing apology after making a tongue in cheek gag about Catholics from the podium at the party's conference in Liverpool.
Both STV News & BBC Scotland had initially ignored the news but the BBC eventually reported on it this afternoon and STV this evening after pressure from the public via social media.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said she was shocked by the gag, with plenty of others also having their say on social media. One person enquired: "What would the fallout be like if this happened at an SNP conference?"
Another quipped: "Imagine he said this about a Muslim; 'I was going to take your question hen but your headscarf looks like a Burka.'" before going on: "It seems it's only Catholics they're comfortable making jokes about".
The BBC reported that the Labour member has said he is sorry for what he said. Is an apology enough or should The Labour Party lead by example by turfing him out?

The 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘩 state broadcaster had led with a headline story which conceded that Scotland's finances were greatly improved, before appearing to hack The Scottish Government's legs away by claiming it was responsible for spending over £13billion more than was raised.
They went into great detail about how this was four times the deficit of the UK government.
This 𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘴 was not only terribly misleading but was also factually incorrect. They had added money spent by the UK government onto the amount spent by Scotland's own government then claimed the entire deficit was all of Scotland's own making.
They announced an 𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 yesterday, issued between their last news item and the weather.

The current UK administration have led us to a place where they are now fearful that they will have to vacate the EU and are facing the humiliating prospect of being left outside the European Single Market with no trading arrangements.
The 'Single Market' is the world's largest marketplace through which all the exports and imports of Europe's nations pass, Britain has been a member since it's inception. It will no longer be a member if the current direction of travel is pursued by the UK government.
That means Scotland, England & Wales will be taken out of the world's most successful marketplace with DUP ministers pushing to have Northern Ireland taken out also because they are loathe to be on the same terms as the rest of Ireland, whether it be better for the people or not. #BrexitMeansBrexit
