As if the combination of HENGE and The Girobabies wasn’t enough, The Nanostock (Glasgow) : HENGE, Girobabies & Much, Much More line up (Saint Lukes, Sat 3rd August) just got supercharged! Let us count the ways…
1) International jungle DJ Mrs Magoo has agreed to close the night. Start stretching those dancing leg muscles now - you’re gonna need ‘em!
2) The incessant force that is musician, writer and broadcaster Darren McGarvey aka Loki The Scottish Rapper has joined the bill. There has been talk of bangers... 🙂
3) Pilgrims Society will serve up a late night live set of irresistibly danceable african and north american funk.
4) Glasgow art-pop rockers How to Swim are coming to launch their new single!
5) A plethora of great songwriters, DJS and MCs will play exclusive sets in the bar, including the majestic and prolific Flew The Arrow, constant font of good vibes timegypsy, alt-rock veteran Chris McEvoy - Music, consious hip hop from James Myerthall (aka One OZ), and a rare appearance from the eclectic Lucky Motherson.
All of this completes a line-up already packed with some of the the very best of the Scottish grass-roots and underground including the sonic force of Becci Wallace, punk sisters The Twistettes, the hip hop stylings of Steg G, the primal rock energy of Woodwife (a band so good they've played all 4 MugStocks), cerebral rapper and songwriter Somnia, The Seasick Steve-esque anarchic blues of HICKS, DJ sets from legends Dj Jay Strata and Stu Anyweather, Hypnotic percussion from Mr Mowley and a set from Unanswered Anaesthetic, a rock band who formed and rehearse at our very own MugShack and who are the very embodiment of teen spirit.
We are also honoured beyond honoured that the utterly unique Westfalia are travelling from Italy to bring their virtuosic and powerful blend of art pop, RnB and dance rock. As unmissable as they are impossible to pigeonhole.
To find out how on earth we’re going to fit all this into 13 hours, join us at Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox on the 3rd August by booking your advanced tickets from www.mugstock.org
Event runs 12pm - 1am. Under 18s are welcome until 10:30pm (end of ’s set)
To make NanoStock a feast for the eyes as well as the ears, belly and soul, creative partners Cumbernauld Alternative Network, fresh from taking MugStock's Chameleon to hang out in the trees of Kelburn, will be attempting to pack a field’s worth of decor into a single church, much of it made from tents abandoned and gathered at other festivals. Kids can get their faces painted for free courtesy of Naomi's Fun House - Edinburgh and we're working on adding more element from the MugStock family field to help entertain the wee ones.
DIY Merch: bring blank clothes and screenprint the MugStock logo onto them for free!
Tickets are cheap as chips in advance at only £22, with a further 25% off for members of the MugStock Family.
NanoStock feels like a genuine reflection of the strength, talent, diversity and general lovliness of the community surrounding MugStock and we can't wait to spend it with you in 2 weeks time. Please share this with the other good folks, and let’s make Saturday 3rd August one to remember.
