Corstorphine Dynamo 0-2 Steins Thistle
๐East of Scotland Cup -Semi Final
A fairly comfortably victory that takes us to the final so huge credit to the players for their consistency.
Steins played an attacking formation and created some chances early on that only good goalkeeping prevented the breakthrough.
The goal came though when good build up play from McCafferty released Michael Wallace on the right and put in a brilliant cross which Dominic McGrandles headed in the bottom corner.
The good start should have kicked us on but we were sluggish and credit to Corstorphine who made it difficult so our back line of Brannan, Manson, McPherson and Crawford had to be on their guard and fortunately each of them and Foxy who was introduced at half time were all pretty much flawless.
Steins stepped up the pressure in the second half with Watson and Allison in particular dominant but it was Dylan McCafferty who defining moment in the game when he lobbed the goalkeeper from 50 yards out with incredible technique and control.
From this point on it was an onslaught with only poor finishing and good fortune keeping the scores down.
Some mesmeric footwork from McCafferty should have resulted in a spot kick award and players are also adamant a Kyle Allison goal should have stood however both decisions had no final bearing on the outcome.
A solid display with our defence once again providing the foundation so well done again to the players and thanks to our supporters for coming along again.
The final is a week on Friday so please put that in your diary ๐โฝ๏ธ๐
