My new filming plan with Fright Or Flight Promotions is now;
2 horror shorts (One is a soundbooth teaser!), 1 monthly hour long horror chat podcast starting in a couple of weeks, 1 monthly secret project which is being written up now, and THEN the feature funding starts.
It's more steps but same destination, but we want to do Soundbooth justice so just taking a wee bit longer to get to it, hopefully we will have more skills when we arrive!
I'm too fu***ng old to rush stuff now. :D

Full tour of charity shops this morning was rather uneventful. I did grab another GoPro though which will come in handy for filming, and this squishy dead boy who is now enjoying a pint with me.

Been a long time planning but shooting a couple of shorts in quick succession on our road to a feature or two 😂
Spent my day buying absolutely random prop bits in town and tons of fake blood… because it’s certainly not going to go to waste.

Fright Or Flight Graveyard Tour 1

Did you know that there is a staggering 44 graveyards in the Glasgow area alone? I was just thinking that i've not even haunted half of them, so as I'm always looking for both location ideas and horror inspiration, let's check them all out.
Here is number 1.

CRAIGTON CEMETARY

Standing since the mid 19th Century, Craigton Cemetery covers an impressive 30 acres and has it's own dedicated Jewish section as well as over 250 Commonwealth war graves.

To be honest it's pretty overgrown and run down in parts, giving out more sad vibes than haunted ones, though in it's defence i was attacked by a particularly leery rose bush and had a wee slice of an arse cheek run through by the delightfull looking bastard so I guess it had it's moments. Highlights of the wander was being caught in a surprising hailstorm even though it was warm enough to be coatless outside, and then also nearly sh****ng my pants when, from the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a werewolf lumbering towards me through the overgrown gravestones. Turns out it was just two massive fu***ng dogs having a meander about and running ahead of their owner.

Dogs Spotted - 6
4 normal dogs and 2 absolute fu***ng beasts.

State Of The Place - 6/10
Some bits are still well tended but overall it's pretty fu***ng wrecked in parts with some graves genuinely looking like you could join the occupants if you get too close. At least they keep the gate area clean at so it looks nice for folk walking past on the main road.

Heebie Jeebies - only 3/5
So about as scary as half a clown at twilight, or a really skinny clown in the morning. So not a full clown in your bedroom at night is what I'm saying.

Ghosts Spotted - 0/10
F**king gutted to be honest as I'm told these place are absolutly hoaching with ghosts. Maybe they are scared of hailstones.

Best Interesting Fact I Could Find?
There is a memorial stone for Pastor John Harper here, the famous preacher who went down with the Titanic while helping others reach the lifeboats and apparently preaching on deck as the ship dissappeared under the waves. That's fu***ng hardcore.

Overall - 8/10
Cracking place for a wander but the council really need to do a bit more to clean it up. Should be 7/10 but I added a point as I thought I saw a werewolf.

Horror short location walkthrough and video walkthrough completed! Now just need to change some of the feckin shot list to work with the space we have before I crack on with Bloodbath Burlesque script.

Post done, charity shop search done, working pub lunch with an odd pint of red stuff done, now heading to be a train wa**er rather than a bus wa**er so I can do a location walk through for the first horror short.

Changed the antagonist and full back story for Bloodbath Burlesque script four times over the weekend. Thank f**k I’ve finally settled on one this morning as I was about to make it ‘Mole People’ and throw reason to the wind.

Tonight I finished the first short we are filming in the first week of April. This one will be called HOMECOMING and will be one of two we make to help us pitch for some extra funding for our full length feature SOUNDBOOTH. We might need a wee bit of help on the sound for this one, so we shall see this week what we need for it and reach out when we know. Cast and location for the first short already sorted!

The next short which will be filmed about the same time is a direct lead in to SOUNDBOOTH too and can even be a wee mini prequal of sorts. HOMECOMING is unconnected though.
Now we continue scripting BLOODBATH BURLESQUE.
Bloody hell, it's all go!

I forgot how much I LOVE scripting live horror shows with a twist.
Honestly. writing a scripted burlesque show just hits differently from wring the feature and the shorts.
Aiming for a Summer release of this so we can hopefully add a Halloween double special to this years run too.
I honestly think you guys will love this one.
