EXAMPLE SCRIPT
Hi my name is ### and I am the host of an exciting new TV show called Crafty Champions.
Today our four competitors will be tasked with creating whatever they like from this old wooden drawer. They could make a bookcase, a pet bed, or something we haven't even imagined yet. It is totally up to them! With our 'Aladdin's Cave" of exciting crafty supplies and tools in the workshop the sky is the limit!
But will the results be fantastic or a bit of a flop??
Only time will tell! Join us at 9pm tonight for the first show
Flashing Lights Media HQ has been super busy these past 12 months. Here are some flashy updates from us:
Our brand new series, a cookery competition for children called Food Fighters for BSLBT has gone out on TV, and is now available to view online at https://www.bslzone.co.uk/watch/food-fighters-series-1. A huge thank-you to the Food Fighters team for their brilliant work. We've been getting rave reviews and feedback!
We are delighted to see that one of Flashing Lights Media's ground-breaking productions, Magic Hands: Black History Songs, has had a mention in the BBC Diversity Commissioning Code of Practice Progress Report 2021/22 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/creativediversity/documents/bbc-diversity-code-of-practice-2021-2022.pdf) - highlighting the fact the series was directed by and presented by 2 of the most underrepresented communities. We are proud that our passion and mission to increase diversity on screen and behind camera for the Black Deaf community has been recognised.
In addition to above, the very same series won an award at Kidscreen in 2022 for the Best Music category (https://kidscreen.com/2022/07/19/announcing-the-2022-kidscreen-awards-winners/). We are once again very proud of the Magic Hands team and grateful to our commissioner, CBeebies, for having made this series possible!
Last but not least, there are some changes taking place within the Flashing Lights Media family. Sam Calder-Bray has joined us as our new Head of Production; he brings with him a wealth of production management experience. Welcome to the team, Sam!
We are now advertising for a new Head of Development, so watch this space!
