STORM ISHA: Tens of thousands of people are without power after Storm Isha ripped through the UK. The highest recorded wind speed was 99mph in Northumberland. Agricultural expert Bruce Jobson says despite the damage caused, people in rural Northumberland are relieved the storm didn't hit as hard as Storm Arwen in 2021 - a storm some are still recovering from.

🕯️❤️Make candles with us❤️🕯️

The weather has meant we couldn’t go out today so we opened a candle making set my husband got me for Christmas. The process is much simpler than I was expecting and we really enjoyed mixing the colours and scents. I also added some petals from a bouquet my in laws gave me and some crystals my parents dropped off earlier today - just so they feel extra special. Really fun!

Have you been to A&E recently?!

I’ve been reading news stories about warnings to only use A&E in an emergency and to use the 111 service first. So when I slipped on black ice and hit my head - feeling very unwell after 8 hours - I called 111. The operator said I absolutely had to see a medical professional within two hours. Obviously my anxiety was on the ceiling and I went to hospital. When I got there I was told “oh they say that to everyone”. If they are indeed saying that to everyone then maybe that’s why A&E is so packed.

I have to say, I was absolutely astounded to see what staff there are dealing with. People who are clearly there to sleep in the warm room, people openly saying they’re there for a “look out”, drunk people, abusive people, it was an eye opener. The staff are run off their feet. I had whiplash and mild concussion - ended up missing my birthday party - but grateful I could be checked close to home. If you work for the NHS, you deserve a medal.

Media training tailored to YOU! I’ve been visiting community groups, major corporations and networking events for mothers to deliver keynote speaker talks on the broadcasting industry and bespoke media training. The training includes ‘Confidence to Camera’ sessions, interviewing techniques, scenarios and ensuring brand messaging is used. Whether you’re asking the questions or answering them, this will elevate your presence. DM for details. I recently spent the day with a group of over 50s for Luk-Luk Productions and the feedback was fantastic. Thanks for reading!

Get well soon, lovely Kate.

The Princess of Wales is in hospital after undergoing successful abdominal surgery, Kensington Palace has announced.

A statement from Kensington Palace said: “Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery.

“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.

“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.

“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”

If it’s good enough for Kim Wilde it is absolutely good enough for me!! Came off nationals to learn the locals shift at Radio News Hub and it was absolutely brilliant to be focussing on these pockets of communities. Regional news is my background and my heart is firmly in it. Fab to have worked on a particularly special station called Isle of Wight Radio and to find out that the INCREDIBLE Kim Wilde is about to launch a show on it - and if our days cross that I could be her newsreader - well, just wow. I absolutely love her!! Long live local radio 📻

I did a keynote speaker session in the morning and had great feedback - “Inspiring, thought provoking, brilliant” 😊 In the afternoon we practiced co-hosting and talked about script writing, interview skills and why the industry is for EVERYONE. The collaborative vibe was creative, fun and energetic. Brilliant people. Luk-Luk Productions Thriving Together Northumberland Citizens Advice Northumberland

Welcome to my first ever 🎥 I wrote this earlier today and thought I should record it today too. I am hoping to attract some interest from film and theatre folk! So please keep me in mind if you’re looking to cast, especially if the role involves singing.

I have always loved the stage and so I’ve decided to push myself further into acting. I’ve done a few comedy roles in the past. There is something magical about the theatre. I’ve spotted a role I would LOVE to play so for the first time, today, I’m writing and recording my first ever 🎥💫 I wrote the script pretty fast, in about ten minutes, you know when it just comes to you like you’re writing but it feels like someone is dictating to you?! These words feel right. Wish me luck and I’ll post it as soon as I dare!
