Making Creativity Works a screen skills training programme focusing on diversity and inclusion

Students taking part in our training programme Making Creativity Works have moved onto the Advanced sessions of the course.
Their first workshop in Advanced Camera Skills was delivered by Industry experts including network Directors of Photography.
All training takes place at ITV in Gateshead.

A huge welcome to Cohort 5 of Making Creativity Works who start their training today. They'll spend the next ten weeks taking part in TV production skills including basic and advanced camera and edit sessions. They'll work together to create short films to produce their very own TV programme in the ITV Signpost Productions in Gateshead.

A fantastic day was had by all at the ITVAcademy Access All Areas day at ITV Leeds. Students from Making Creativity Works were invited along to gain valuable experience and an insight into departments and roles within ITV.
Students met with the Commercial team, the Emmerdale post production team, the Content Delivery team, took part in an Archive Tour and got to watch a Calendar News transmission.

Thank you ITVAcademy for such a valuable experience.

And that's a wrap! for Cohort 4 on Making Creativity Works. Students have been taking part in a week long intensive training programme to learn basic and advanced skills in camera, editing and studio presenting. Many of the students started the week by picking up a camera for the first time and it ended with them making a TV programme.
Well done Cohort 4. You've been amazing!

Lighting and editing skills have been the focus of today's training sessions for Cohort 4 of Making Creativity Works. For many students this is the first time they have used a camera or tried editing. They're working towards creating a tv programme at the end of the week.

A huge thank you to the production crew at Vera for allowing our students from Making Creativity Works onto the set to watch filming take place.
It gave them a chance to see all the roles involved in such a huge and successful production plus the aspiration to be part of it. 🎬

And that's a wrap for Cohort 3 on the Making Creativity Works training programme.

Over the past few months students have taken part in a variety of introductory and advanced screen skills modules including camera, edit and presentation skills.

For their final session, students took part in an employability skills lesson delivered by Conor and Trixie from ITV Recruitment who showed the learners how to write the perfect cv and hone their interview skills.

And as an extra special surprise, Weather Presenter Ross Hutchinson gave a guided tour around the newsroom, studio and an insight into his role at ITV Tyne Tees.

We were delighted to be invited to the very first ITVAcademy Access All Areas tour. Students from our Making Creativity Works training programme were amongst 15 young people interested in working in TV behind the scenes at the ITV offices and studios in Leeds.
We visited Emmerdale Hair & Makeup room, Costume stores and the Props & Scenery, AD departments and we even got to go in the Woolpack!
We also visited ITV Calendar News & Weather to watch a weather bulletin being put together before moving onto the ITV Archive to learn about the history of ITV and tour the vast tape & film library.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our Making Creativity Works learners and we're proud to be part of the ITV Academy.

Great to see Cohort 3 of Making Creativity Works in the studio at ITV in Gateshead taking part in the advanced stage of our training programme.
The MCW learners experienced the magic of green screen, presented a news bulletin and magazine programme.
We're proud that all training takes place at Signpost Productions , a dynamic production company that is part of part of ITV.
