And that's a wrap! for Cohort 4 on Making Creativity Works. Students have been taking part in a week long intensive training programme to learn basic and advanced skills in camera, editing and studio presenting. Many of the students started the week by picking up a camera for the first time and it ended with them making a TV programme.

Lighting and editing skills have been the focus of today's training sessions for Cohort 4 of Making Creativity Works. For many students this is the first time they have used a camera or tried editing. They're working towards creating a tv programme at the end of the week.

And that's a wrap for Cohort 3 on the Making Creativity Works training programme.

Over the past few months students have taken part in a variety of introductory and advanced screen skills modules including camera, edit and presentation skills.

For their final session, students took part in an employability skills lesson delivered by Conor and Trixie from ITV Recruitment who showed the learners how to write the perfect cv and hone their interview skills.

And as an extra special surprise, Weather Presenter Ross Hutchinson gave a guided tour around the newsroom, studio and an insight into his role at ITV Tyne Tees.

We were delighted to be invited to the very first ITVAcademy Access All Areas tour. Students from our Making Creativity Works training programme were amongst 15 young people interested in working in TV behind the scenes at the ITV offices and studios in Leeds.
We visited Emmerdale Hair & Makeup room, Costume stores and the Props & Scenery, AD departments and we even got to go in the Woolpack!
We also visited ITV Calendar News & Weather to watch a weather bulletin being put together before moving onto the ITV Archive to learn about the history of ITV and tour the vast tape & film library.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our Making Creativity Works learners and we're proud to be part of the ITV Academy.

The MCW learners experienced the magic of green screen, presented a news bulletin and magazine programme.

Our second cohort taking part in this free training programme funded by North of Tyne Combined Authority was made up of BSL and non BSL Users.
Many of the students had little to no experience of the screen industry before they joined us and are now on pathways into the production sector.

It was fantastic to welcome a special panel of guests to talk at a Making Creativity Works networking event.

Industry role models and organisations were on hand to give career advice, pathways to further education, training opportunities and work placement information.

The panel was made up of a host of people working in television including presenters, producers, tech specialists and representatives from Signpost Productions,Beacon Films CIC North East Screen Crew Academy, The Prince's Trust, Generator Union and ITV Able.

Making Creativity Works is an industry-led free training programme, delivered by Signpost Productions, part of ITV and Beacon Films. The course is funded by North of Tyne Combined Authority.

Great fun was had by all at our studio experience day in the ITV/Signpost Productions studio. A group made up of BSL users and non BSL users got to chance to work with industry experts who delivered the session on the magic of green screen, reading the news from an autocue and presentation skills.

Well done to Cohort One of Making Creativity Works who have completed their camera, edit, multi-platform story telling and studio experience modules.

Cohort Two have recently started Making Creativity Works Inspire: entry level training that teach learners basic self-shooting and editing skills, supporting them to work together to make a film whilst following a brief.

They'll soon be moving onto Making Creativity Works Advanced: craft-based modules that consolidate the learning from Inspire, and allow those with existing skills to join the courses at this more advanced stage. The modules cover topics such as camera, editing, multi-platform storytelling, freelance skills, access and inclusion information, recruitment modules and presentation skills.
