Cornelius Clifford, Fantasy Author, Game Designer and Monstrous TV Producer

“I have been writing and illustrating fantasy books, stories and RPG games for most of my life. Having been inspired by marvelous books like those set in Narnia or Middle Earth as a youngster. In my teen years and early 20s I was very involved in Role Playing Games (writing and publishing magazines, games, rules and background booklets) Military History and Historical Re-enactments.

In 1984, with my great friend Max Bantleman, we formed Dreamworlds, and that has been our publishing imprint ever since. There have been gaps and hiatuses over the decades but some of our highlights were: A book of Fantasy Tree Houses, The Hidden Realms, When Tomorrow Comes, Flames of Albion magazine, Esprit de Corps magazine, Hobbit Recipes (a popular fantasy book until Newline cinema told us we couldn’t use the word ‘Hobbit!’) And many more. In more recent years I have developed a fascination for making monstrous creatures (fantasy puppets) inspired by the work of Brian Froud and Jim Henson in films such as The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

I am looking forward to publishing more fantasy books soon, as well as developing the Monstrous TV station - watch this space!
