On All About Frome this week, Rupert Kirkham talks to Damon Moore, Director and Holly Lawton, Communications Manager for Mayday Saxonvale. Now they’ve got the contract to develop the site, where does the project go from here?
Alex Lawrie Chair of Go-op, the new rail franchise for parts of Wiltshire and Somerset that other rail companies can’t reach just got the go-ahead to set up the franchise so long as they can fund it; and Esther Maughan McLachlan from Edventure’s senior management team talks about a new community venture – a re-use DIY store to help keep unused DIY materials out of landfill so we can purchase them at lower cost and put them back into the community.
With music from The Beatles and Patti Smith.

What could make your Christmassy glow even better this Friday? How about paying it forward and helping someone you may never meet enjoy their Christmas?

Once again this year, volunteers from Frome Town Rotary and Fair Frome will be at the lantern parade and Christmas lights switch on with collection buckets, contactless devices and a text-to-donate option. They're raising funds for The Frome Christmas Get-Together and Fair Frome's Christmas projects. Please give generously and help support their brilliant work 🙏💙

So sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of Alan Burston in Swindon recently. Alan always had a smile for you- gentle and modest, but his encyclopaedic knowledge of rock and roll made him the nicest kind of star!
I knew Alan back in the pioneering days of local broadcasting (the seventies!) when he was always a welcome figure in the tv studios of Swindon Viewpoint at the bottom of Victoria Road. A true legend.
