Wow! Where has this month gone! There is just over a week until deadline day so make sure you share with us all your news and events for inclusion the March issue.

We will also be including lots of family fun activities for Easter in preparation for the school holidays in April. If you are planning anything special please let us know.

This week we revert back to the old school with a look at our 10th Birthday Party!

It was a night to remember with representatives from all walks of our community and with our birthday coming up again, we thought it was a good time to share it again! Sadly, we can't have another big bash (yet!), but you can still apply for a Birthday Grant. Make sure you check to see if you are eligible and then pop an application form in.

We are welcoming applications from registered Community Groups and Charitable Organisations in the YO14 area.

To check your eligibility and apply, head to www.fileybaytoday.co.uk/birthdaygrants to fill download a form or email [email protected] to have one sent.

Our final this month goes to our advertisers. Filey Bay Today advertisers are essential to our business. While we strive to limit advertising to focus on editorial content, the additional income from our advertisers primarily boosts our donation fund.

Throughout the year, the funds raised allow us to give back to our local community through our birthday grants. This year, after our birthday in March, our total donations to the community will surpass £50,000. 🧡 We are incredibly proud and grateful to everyone who has contributed to this achievement.

Balls are in but modifications have needed to made as there’s more balls than ever!!

Boomin are my absolute favourites at Staxtonbury Music Festival. Well worth the money just to see them. We went from Steps to Cotton Eye Joe and beyond. The most amazing mash ups. I love these guys so much. They managed to entertain the crowd through the rain and the England match. Amazing 🧡 Toploader next… P.S. I didn’t get much footage it was either too wet or I was too busy dancing (in the rain rather than the moonlight).

As it is the start of a New Year, it is probably a great time to remind you of our mission statement. Filey Bay Today is voluntarily run and aims to promote the local area and the many events and activities that happen. With subscribers locally and internationally, we raise visibility and increase footfall in the area. We hope that in doing so we can highlight the great work done by so many, reduce social isolation and increase wellbeing by connecting people to new interests and experiences. We also reinvest our profits locally, so whether you subscribe, advertise or just pick up a copy from time to time, you are helping to grow your community. By the end of 2024, we will have given over £45,000 back to the community. A massive thank you to everyone who has helped us to achieve that. A massive thank you to Bek Homer from BBC Radio York for coming last night, when I heard this on Breakfast this morning, I cried. Absolutely buzzing after last night still. 🧡 Many thanks to everyone who came and to The White Lodge Hotel Filey for an amazing venue and buffet!
