Great progress video here from Careys, the main contractor for Aggregate Industries' new Cement Manufacturing and Distribution Facility at the Port of Tilbury.
Ground works began in early February 2024 and the team recently completed the first slab pour for the storage hall, which consisted of 344m3 concrete poured over a nine hour period.
This ambitious project is scheduled for completion in 2025 and at peak Careys will employ 90 operatives on site. Once operational, the Tilbury facility will allow Aggregate Industries to supply customers 24 hours a day with conventional, low carbon and circular cementitious materials from five loading heads.
