🎨An absolutely lovely workshop last night with a wonderful group of ladies at Lee-on-the-Solent Community Centre! 🥰

🤔We thought about what we need a bit more of in our lives right now and then made little ‘wishes’. Aren’t they gorgeous?

🧘Then we settled down for some mindful drawing inspired by neurographic and tangle art.

💡Fancy adding a bit of feelgood calm into your life in a fun and safe environment? There’s more workshop dates coming up this month and next. Link in the comments ⬇️

🥰 As someone who struggles with time blindness, getting my hands on a new diary or to do list pad sends me straight to my happy place!

Most people have an internal "clock" that enables them to roughly know how much time has past. For those of us with time blindness, we have to rely heavily on other tools to know how much time has past.

Day to day I manage pretty well with a combination of calendars and planners both digital and hard copy. I utilise the alarm on my phone so I know when I need to get ready to go anywhere important and I write down anything I need to remember (usually more than once!). If I stop using these tools though, things get messy!

I still come up completely blank if I'm asked when something happened or how long something has been like that. For example visiting my GP is always tricky as the first thing they ask is "how long have you had those symptoms?". It's possibly the only time my busy brain goes completely empty! And my fear of being late always makes me stupidly early so I end up walking round the block a few times!

Having the right tools to manage the things I find difficult goes such a long way towards maintaining my mental health and wellbeing. For me a diary is up there at the top of my tools.

🤔 How about you? What are your top tools for staying on top of your wellbeing?

🙌Woo hoo!! I’m finally back in the office after what feels like forever in the world of Panto Land!

I’ve had an absolute blast being part of the stage management team again, and somehow I managed to squeeze in a Therapeutic Christmas Workshop at The Greenhouse in Victoria Park Portsmouth where we made angels and did some mindful drawing ❤️

I’ve kicked off this week delivering a mindful art session for new Mums at The Natal Bean and I have another three therapeutic art workshops coming up this month. The first one is this Thursday - booking link in the comments!

Can’t wait to see you all soon! ❤️

After two months of Panto - I’m back! Kicking off January at The Natal Bean with a mindful art workshop for new & expectant Mums. I’ve then got monthly therapeutic art and craft workshops lined up in Lee-on-the-Solent, Wallington & Titchfield. Can’t wait to see you all soon😃 All bookable at https://www.thinkbigdobigger.co.uk/event-list

Hello everyone!

We hope you’ve had a wonderful time with your families and little ones and managed to find some time for you.

Here’s our schedule for January, with some new additions to give you more support during this postnatal journey. We will be joined by AIM, an American based company providing workshops to help with understanding your child's behavior and setting up a supportive home environment, all with a Montessori approach. We will also have an opportunity to find out more about the new Harborside nursery at Titchfield Haven and talk about transitioning to nurseries. Then, also joining us is Charli, a stress management coach and community psychologist who is delivering tailored workshops to help you navigate the postnatal journey.

🤗 Empathy is one of my core values. I believe it's vitally important that we at least try to see things from other perspectives. It helps us to grow as individuals and be far more compassionate to others.

Art and empathy go hand in hand as art allows you to literally see something from someone else's (the artists) perspective.

So here's a little insight into my busy brain whilst creating some mindful art!

🎶 Tell me it's not true. Say it's just a story. 🎶

Can you guess the musical?? I've seen it countless times but in all my years of theatre I've never seen it from backstage.

This week, that's about to change as I work on one of my childhood favourites and I'm sooo unbelievably excited I hardly slept last night!

The thing about musical theatre is that it combines so many creative elements into one huge feast for the senses. There's the music, the lights, costumes, set design and let's not forget at its core is some damn goods story telling. All of which is great for improving our wellbeing.

Who loves a good quiz?

I'll confess I'm a sucker for them, especially the ones that tell you something about yourself as they can give you a great insight into your personal strengths and weaknesses.

I'm a great believer that the more we know about ourselves, the easier it becomes to care for ourselves. And the more we care for ourselves, the better our wellbeing.

🤜 Check out this quiz and find out how resilient you are.

People high in resilience have abundant resolve. They set goals and stick to them even if there are obstacles or a potential for failure. After a defeat, the resilient are mentally agile and can stand up and dust themselves off. Overcoming hardship is second nature. See where you fall on this resili...

The top 3 things you need to know about STRESS on are:

1) Stress is NORMAL. It's our bodies natural response to demands or stressors placed on it and it's designed to keep us alive.

2) Chronic stress (prolonged stress) is NOT NORMAL. Chronic stress makes you ill. Not just in terms of your mental wellbeing, it also effects your physical health. Stress is linked to long term health issues such as diabeties, high blood pressure and heart disease.

3) Stress is NOT INEVITABLE. There are so many ways you can manage stress and build your resilience for times when times get difficult BUT to really get a grip on stress, it starts with YOUR mindset.

My educational workshops equip you with a deep understanding of what stress is and what that means for you. You learn to recognise your own triggers and limits to prevent stress from happening. And you create your own toolbox of stress management techniques that actually work for you.

Alongside this, my creative workshops provide you with the time and space to relax, unwind and learn new skills such as mindfulness that you can add to your toolbox for managing stress. Tapping into our creative side lowers cortisol (the stress hormone) and so art and craft serves as a quick and easy way to reduce stress.

👻 It's finally here! Happy Halloween everyone!

🧙‍♀️ I'm kicking off my day with Joanna Blossom from at her Children's Craft Workshop.

🎃 I'll then be making some spooky snacks to take to a Halloween gathering followed by Trick or Treating with the little people. And of course some pumpkin carving will be in order.

🧟‍♀️ Once my daughter is in bed I'll do what I do every year and light new candles with a thought for those no longer with us (They say the veil is closest on Halloween!!).

🧛‍♀️ How are you celebrating Halloween this year?

Besides the candy, of course.

I should have been networking with the rest of the fabulous High Vibers today. But instead I agreed to dog sit this scary beast!

This is Dotty. She's a doberman and has spent her entire life being misunderstood.

Despite popular misconceptions of Dobermans, Dotty is scared of EVERYTHING! Being on her own, Fireworks, loud bangs, quiet bangs, the sound of a stapler, the garden umbrella if it's up (she did get hit by one once so I'll give her that!), the wind, other dogs, people she doesn't know, children, kites... the list goes on.

Dotty reminds me not EVER judge a book by it's cover, and always look for the kindness in people, however tough the exterior.

When we learn to look for the good in the world, things look a whole lot brighter!

Did you know that art, even just looking at it can reduce stress?

Research has shown looking at art lowers cortisol levels (one of our stress hormones). And this is just one of the reasons I deliver creative workshops as tapping into our creative side is such a quick and easy way of reducing stress and improving wellbeing.

Great art can elevate your mood, slow your heart rate and improve physical and mental health – here's how.
