Here it is - THE FINAL ISSUE OF BE CREATIVE! 🎉

Get your hands on this folks, the last ever and let’s not forget, 200th issue of Be Creative!

How have we wrapped up 37 years of phenomenal creative inspiration? With a jam packed issue of course, bursting with ideas, exclusive interviews, projects, and motivation for you to have a go, enjoy what you do, and most of all, just keep being creative.

We wanted our final cover to be one to remember and so it had to be the work of the sublimely talented that we went out with - that butterfly is pretty much perfection itself. We think her still life embroidery is delightfully life-like and her story is just as inspiring.

Our lovely has delivered the goods yet again and interviewed the inimitable for this landmark edition - she reveals her process and some of the secrets behind her stunning embroidered portraiture.

We have probably our largest project ever in this issue - a whopping 9 page ‘how to’ crochet a zebra rug! It’s so gorgeous, it’s worth learning how to crochet for if you don’t already! And if you fancy giving hoop art a go, we have an adorable turtle embroidery hoop by for you try, as well as a delightful moth pattern by that we’ll be having a go at too.

There is so much more in our sign off issue, but we won’t spoil it for you - so please, enjoy it and savour it, as we have done producing each issue of the magazine for the last 8.5 years. Thank you all once again for all your love, support, comments, and kindness - we will miss you all more than we can say.

PLEASE READ - CELEBRATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS

I never imagined when I became the editor of Be Creative some eight and a half years ago, that I would go on to produce its 200th issue. Let me tell you, it has been an absolute honour and a privilege to be at the helm of this creative behemoth for almost 70 issues.

As we celebrate the epic achievement of reaching 200 issues that have spanned 37 years of creativity (fun fact: BC and I were both ‘born’ in the same year) now is also the time that we say a very sad farewell to this much loved home of craft and creativity. Much like a West End show that has played for decade after decade and that eventually must come to an end, with the 200th issue (June), Be Creative takes its final bow on what has been an incredible run.

You don’t need me to tell you that this past year has been an incredibly hard one; while Be Creative has admirably held its own during this time when so many others fell around it, and has been the beacon of creative light you have needed during some very dark times, the sad fact is that even prior to the pandemic, print and the high street were struggling, and even more so now. Therefore, it felt fitting to go out on a high, on the crest of a huge achievement, and give BC the celebratory send off it deserves.

Can we take the opportunity now to say to each and every one of you that has ever bought the magazine, subscribed, left a like, positive comment or shared one of our posts - a resounding and huge THANK YOU. Be Creative has always been inspired by enthusiasts, and all your support and encouragement truly has meant the world to the tiny team behind the magazine. And to all the artists who have featured in our pages over the years, may we ask you to take a bow too - thank you for making the magazine what it is and what it has been.

This month our cover star is the delightful whose beautiful creations just make you smile and feel warm and fuzzy inside. You can have a go at creating your own version of her stunning cover rainbow, with her project free inside this issue!

We also dive under the sea with the fascinating .ku and explore the fabulous felt of from her home in rural Ireland. Her sculpture of two mice hugging will give you all the feels, we promise 💙 Plus, we get down and sparkly with and her sequin-tastic creations!
