Hi guys, sorry I've been so absent of late, started a new job of late and getting used to the state of the nation and world at the minute.

On the bright side, I have ordered some new paranormal equipment today and hoping for it to arrive next week. I will be doing a few demonstration videos when they arrive and hopefully use it on an investigation soon.

More updates soon guys, stay spooky and, above all else, stay safe 👻

14/03/2020

Okay. So.

Apologies for the lack of activity of late, I've been moving jobs and this whole coronavirus thing has got the nation shook.

So I'm gonna do another daily thing about different pieces of equipment I use in the field and explanations of how they help me on investigations. Stay tuned for that, peace guys ✌️👻

Spooky City of Exeter part 4

Exeter cathedral and cathedral green.

Arguably the most haunted site in Exeter is the cathedral and grounds surrounding. Whilst each of the surrounding shops and institutions has their own ghsot story to tell, I'm going to focus on the cathedral and the immediate surrounding area.

It should be noted that when the plague hit Exeter, bodies were stacked and buried a few feet under the soil, some say remains are left behind under the ground at the green even today.

The most famous apparition seen on cathedral is that of a nun roaming the grounds who seems to point accusingly at anyone doing anything wrong. One night in the 1940's, 2 men were attempting to steal lead from one of the roofs around the cathedral green until the nun alerted onlookers to their crime. The thieves fled never to be seen again. The nun only seems to appear on evenings in July.

Another famous apparition is that of the "Guardian" as he's been known. During the blitz in May 1942, some of the cathedrals more historic touches were damaged or destroyed. Firemen on the scene noticed, through the panic, a pale faced man with deep set red eyes wearing dark robes observing the scene on the cathedral, one recalled the figure pointing to the sky and shaking his head. The firemen looked away and looked back a few seconds later but the figure had vanished. It's still a mystery to this day who this figure was and what his relationship to the cathedral is.

Spooky City of Exeter part 3

Rougemont Castle and Gardens

Whilst there isn't any documented activity up rougemont gardens, the old ruins surrounding beg to differ it would seem. I've been on a couple of impromptu investigations within the ruins and Gardens, that date back to the roman and Norman rules in the city, and have experienced moderate activity at least in the area.

The castle was famously where the Devon witches were handed their sentence for the crimes of witchcraft back in the 1600's. As you can see there is now a memorial plaque in the ruins of the Norman Tower.

Spooky City of Exeter - part 2

St Catherine's Almshouse, Catherine Street

Based in the shopping centre Princesshay, the St Catherine's Almshouse is certainly a nice piece of history still standing, although it suffered heavily during the blitz in 1942, like most of Exeters historic landmarks.

I have heard and read a few tales of activity surrounding this structure. The one that is mostly documented is the sound of music and laughter late at night coming from the derelict structure, although no one has been seen inside. This has been attributed to the spirits of Irish protestants who escaped persecution for their beliefs, came to Exeter and stayed at the Almshouse for a spell. Could it be their spirits are still celebrating their safe new home?

Do you know of a haunting? Maybe somewhere you know is reputed to have spiritual activity? Do you know anyone that believes their house is haunted and wants proof or help with the matter?

Well, my DM's are always open for questions or queries about anything paranormal related, I will do my best to help in any way I can, whether that be information or a full blown investigation, please don't hesitate to ask :)

Spooky city of Exeter: Part 1

The Luscombe Oak, Southernhay Gardens, Exeter.

Thought to be on or near the site of the old gallows where executions were held for years, the Luscombe oak has always held a spooky charm for myself.

There has been documented sightings of residual apparitions as soon as the early 2000's, whether they be visual or audible. There's really no telling what the extent of the spiritual activity is, as the Luscombe oak is right in a busy part of the town centre and, as such, is passed by by hundreds of people every day , most with no knowledge of the grim history surrounding the spot.

This is The Witching Hour.

Up and coming paranormal investigator and occult researcher who focuses on the scientific method. This page is to bring you all things I find compelling and convincing, easily debunked and obviously not supernatural or open to debate and can go either way, I'll be offering my opinion and leaving the rest down to you.

I'll also be trying to document, in a simple form, my impromptu investigations around my home city of Exeter and running through the legends behind the ghostly inhabitants.

This journey has already been so enlightening for me and I hope I can pass on the enlightenment to you guys and, who knows? It may challenge your very views on the paranormal...
