I guess if you are going to fly in from all over Europe for a party, then you are going to make sure it's worthwhile.

And what a banging night it was last night at The Novotel Hotel at Stansted Airport for the European Lifecare Group.

It was literally rocking from the start to the 2am finish, as I played such a vast array of music. No doubt the free booze helped!

With Loz ad-libbing on sax, playing to tracks he had never played to before!!

It's always nice to go to a new venue, especially one that is local, and wow what a gem this is!

Haywards in Epping is a very tastefully appointed event venue and restaurant, ideal for more intimate gatherings (I would say 40-70 guests). It is passionately run by its joint owner Amanda, who gave me and the guests the warmest of welcomes and the utmost care and attention, whilst her husband was the talented chef working hard behind the scenes.

A great and atmospheric night was had as we celebrated Olivia's 50th.

And so a great week for us was rounded off with an excellent 80s and 90s themed 40th birthday party last night at Theydon Bois Village Hall. Featuring some very fancy outfits!

While organising a family party, I came across Tony Poole Discos on Google. I rang Tony immediately. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I made a booking straight away. I had to contact him several times before the event, and found him to be very patient, professional, and reassuring. He responded to all my messages promptly. A first class service. I knew I’d made the right decision. Planning for the day was very straightforward. Tony had advised me of arrival times for Benn (DJ), and Mick (Photo Booth).

They both arrived early, and were brilliant. I gave Benn a wish list of music and he was very obliging, and open to requests. Once the music started, the dance floor was never empty. Mick was brilliant at chatting to guests, and had lots of suggestions for getting the best photos. The album was a lovely keepsake.

All in all, the party was a memorable affair. Guests ages ranged from 8-80 and everyone had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tony and his team: they would be my first ‘port of call’. When planning a party, it is so difficult to get things right. Tony knows exactly how to take the stress away. Many have since asked ‘when can we do it again?’ That says it all!!

Congratulations to London Borough of Tower Hamlets Childrens Services, who were graded "Outstanding" by Ofsted, necessitating a celebration yesterday, which we were happy to help out with.

We shared the entertaining with some children whose lives were horrendous prior to intervention. You could see how they were now thriving as they sang and danced before the 500 guests.

And that's a wrap!

Our busy and successful festive party season ended last night with 5 events across Essex and Herts.

It really has been an absolute privilege to be the chosen entertainment at so many events throughout December. The feedback has been outstanding and an immense source of pride.

My team have been totally reliable, and it seems our clients never doubted we would deliver. This in a month where I received 5 panic phone calls hours before an event, where the caller's chosen DJ company had let them down. I wish I could say it shocks me but sadly it doesn't.

Wishing all our clients, friends and followers a very happy Christmas, and best wishes for 2025.

Another massive weekend of fabulous events. Thank you to all our clients for booking us, many of them for the umpeenth time!

We just love setting the scene for our Christmas bashes, working with the venues to make it feel festive for the guests as they arrive.

Five Christmas parties, two birthday bashes and a wedding, hours and hours of setting up and de-rigging, an enormous amount of planning... and at the end of it, happy clients and full dance floors.

Wow what a night!

The biggest event we have ever done - over 1000 guests! And of pretty much every Nationality and culture

It was the staff Christmas Party for the SE region of Iceland (food store).

And the venue was huge, requiring our multi speaker PA system.

The dance floor was full all night and the queue for our photo booth was relentless.

A great team effort. Benn, Mick, Elayne and I were all pretty shattered by the end!

We booked Tony for our Wedding on the 26th October 2024.

He supplies an e-brochure showing multiple DJ set up options plus additional features.

We chose to have him for the whole day. This included arranging music for the ceremony (before, during and after). Using all his own equipment, he compered the reception, which included introducing the newly married couple, speeches, cake cutting, first dance and any required announcements.

We were both so pleased with Tony and how he carried out his work. As soon as we agreed to have him provide the entertainment for the day, Tony was quick to arrange a follow up meeting (which was carried out via Zoom as we live abroad), where he offered advice and recommended different audio and visual options. We chose the premier set up with ambient uplighting, several starlit backdrops and the white LED dancefloor, the latter really puts the icing on the cake.

Tony has a vast wealth of experience when it comes to events and this was invaluable when we were trying to bring things together with the different suppliers. Several weeks before the wedding date, Tony met with us in person, along with the event manager and celebrant to help work out a timeline and offered advice for the layout of the room and how he could make our special day be the best it could be.

In the run up to the wedding he was quick to respond to any queries, easy to talk to and on the big day he arrived early to set up his equipment. He was very well organised, good on the microphone and played cracking music all night. A special thank you here, as we gave him a broad spectrum of musical genre's to play and he mixed in and out of these to perfection.

We also chose to have a photo booth and it was Tony's recommendation of who to use (Michael Berry).

The whole day was a roaring success and only made possible by the good work carried out by all the suppliers of which Tony and his team were and essential part.

From the moment people arrived for the ceremony, I could tell yesterday was going to be atmospheric as Stephen and Amelie tied the knot at Ware Priory.

An Anglo French affair (the second time for me in a month!), their families and friends from the outset gave them a day and night to remember.

It was special for me as I have known Stephen and his family for nearly 40 years and played at many of their family's celebrations.

They booked our All Day Service (music for the ceremony, music and compering through the meal and DJing in the evening), our Premier Set Up, White LED Backdrop, Ambience Uplighting, White LED Dance Floor and Photo Booth, all making the room fit for the occasion.

Wow! What an audience!

I think most people danced for most of my 6 hour set last night, celebrating Alex and Sabrina's big day.

It was one of of our three events yesterday. It was also Tom's 40th at Broxbourne Golf Complex and Deborah's 60th at Chingford RBL.

There was barely a dry eye amongst the 250 guests as 18 year old Nabil (first picture) talked about his 10 years in foster care, and showed his love and appreciation for his carer, or as he called her... "my hero".

As always, it was truly humbling at Whitechapel Town Hall for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets 2024 Foster Carers Awards Night.

It was my 15th year at this event, and it gets me every time. There really are some wonderfully selfless people in the world.

And as for the Indian buffet...!

An insanely busy week of events concluded for me with a truly fabulous wedding yesterday at the beautiful and historic Round Chapel in Clapton, East London.

From the moment the guests arrived for Mark and Sophie's ceremony, I knew it was going to be a day full of fun and energy. And so it turned out.

They booked our Premier Set Up, Ambience Uplighting (which looked stunning in the venue), and Photo Booth. Congratulations!

The most amazing reviews have come in from the Clients as well as the Toastmaster regarding one of last Saturday's weddings. Grateful as always for people who take time to post reviews (especially when they should have other priorities whilst on honeymoon!!). But above all, absolutely thrilled to help make people's dreams come true... From the bride Shanelle-Jacqueline Marcetic Tony provided a wonderful service for our wedding, including ceremony music. We had the white Dj set up, uplighting and light show. Tony was perfect, we gave a short list of requests and he filled the gaps perfectly paying attention to the genres of our requests and played a fantastic set which catered to a range of styles and preferences, including going out of his way to find traditional Serbian music to mix both cultures. Tony himself was a wonderful man, his warm nature made it a pleasure to have him at our wedding and many our guests commented on how wonderful he was. Tony went out of his way to check we were happy during the party, we really felt like he was trying to provide us with the perfect experience. We were beyond happy with the full service, easy planning, attention to detail and support throughout. We would not hesitate to recommend Tony and look forward to an excuse to use him again in the future. Thank you so much. And from the Toastmaster Jonathan Ian Waterman Tony is truly a team player.
