Introducing our second film that has been nominated for a Charity Film Awards...

Michael's Story - in partnership with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

When a skydive manoeuvre went wrong, Michael came crashing down to earth at approximately 40mph, causing a significant spinal injury. The air ambulance was dispatched, and just minutes later, the critical care team arrived to help Michael.

Happy New Year 🎉 We hope you had a nice break over Christmas.

We're in full swing in the office this week and went out to our first shoot yesterday with Pompey in the Community.

📢🏃‍♀️ Our next Run Club will be Tuesday 17th December - one week today!

There's still time to fit in one last run with the group before Christmas, so bring your running kit into work next Tuesday and join us outside Millstream at 5.30pm.

Millstream Run Club is for those of you who work in Emsworth and want to get outside, get fit and work on your mental health.

When: Last Tuesday of every month (next one is Tuesday 17th December)

Where: Meet outside Millstream Productions (24 Queen Street, Emsworth PO10 7BL)

Time: 5.30pm for 5.45pm run

Optional: Run will be followed by a drink at the Sussex Brewery

The run club is for all abilities and there's a 3k or 5k route available.

So, if you want to make new connections, get some fresh air after work, and increase your fitness, come and join us!

You don't need to register - just turn up on the day.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts x Millstream Productions

Have you seen some of our animations as part of a project with Krispy Kreme?

They've been shown up and down the country in Krispy Kreme stores, service stations and supermarkets.

Krispy Kreme were looking to promote their products in line with well-known occasions including Eid and the Paris Olympics so they provided us with pre-designed posters that needed to be animated and grab consumers' attention.

TIP OF THE MONTH 💡 What you need to know before you press record.

✋ Hands up if you've hit record and something has gone wrong. Perhaps it's too dark where you've set up, or it's tea time in the office and it sounds like a stampede is approaching.

We know there's a benefit to making videos in-house so this month's tip runs you through some of the things you might not have thought about before you start filming.

Inspired by the desire to get outside, get fit and work on our mental health, last month we launched the NEW Millstream Run Club and would love you to join us.

With the dark evenings drawing in and the temptation to get cosy on the sofa straight after work, we wanted to find a way to get some fresh air and exercise with a supportive, friendly group.

When: Last Tuesday of every month (next one is Tuesday 26th November)

B&Q x Millstream Productions

Did you know that B&Q is a massive advocate of apprenticeships and offer a variety of courses to their employees from HR & finance to retail and leadership?

With graduation for the 2024 cohort all booked, we worked with them to capture the inspiring event and interview some of the graduates to find out why they chose an apprenticeship with B&Q.

B&Q, the DIY and home improvements retailer, is a big advocate of apprenticeships and offers a variety of courses to their employees. We worked with them to create a class of 2024 film to inspire others to study an apprenticeship.

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the team, Libby.

Libby is Millstream's studio assistant and has joined as part of our collaboration with Artswork and their Breakthrough programme.

We asked Libby what she's been up to in her role since she joined a few weeks ago and what she's most looking forward to about her 6 months at Millstream:

"So far, I've been getting to know the team and the work we do. I've worked on data analysis, research tasks and writing narratives. I am looking forward to learning and being exposed to new opportunities, such as joining the filming team on client shoots and understanding more about this industry."

We recently worked with Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Group who commissioned this documentary telling the story of the quirky Selsey Tramway.

The Selsey Tramway was the brainchild of Colonel Stephens. It opened in 1897, having taken just four months to build. There were 11 stations along the route and for a number of years it was a very popular form of transport which carried goods and tourists on and off the peninsular.

Gradually, the service became more and more unreliable and suffered from competition from the bus and motorcar before it finally closed in 1935.

It's currently being screened as part of an exhibition at The Novium Museum ‪in Chichester, West Sussex, so go and check it out if you're local.

It's a day of celebration here at Millstream as we celebrate Oli's 🔟 year anniversary with us! 🥳

Oli has been an integral part of the team since he joined Millstream back in 2014 and has continued to develop many skills along the way including filmmaking, photography, editing, champion tea drinking and has kept the chocolate companies in business.

Oli helps the Millstream wheels turn with his passion, determination and willingness to help everyone.
