M:ADE CREATIVE BURSARIES - Now Open!

We are looking to award THREE bursaries of up to £200 to Moray-based young people aged 12-25. This is thanks to the 'Gran' Nicht Oot Bidin' In' fundraiser delivered back in Feb by UHI Events student Alana Walker.

We would like bursaries to be used in a way that can help you progress your creative talent or ambition...maybe you need equipment, maybe its materials, a course, lessons, mentoring, books or software...these are just some suggestions, you know better than us what will help you progress.

To apply, please email [email protected] with the following 5 things: 1) Your name 2) Date of Birth 3) Postcode 4) One image of your creative work or you undertaking/participating in your creative work and 5) A 100 word paragraph that outlines your creative interest, what you would use the bursary for, how this will make a difference to you and why the support is important at this moment in time. It is ok to chat this over with someone but we would like this written by you so we can hear your own voice come through.

We will accept entries until the 19th of April and a small MADE panel will review all submissions.

Any questions please do ask either in the comments or via email! Good luck.

You may have heard that M:ADE has been involved with the proposed redevelopment of The Gordon Arms Hotel...our vision and hope is to lead on a new creative arts space for the community.

BUT. We want to preserve this building's history. So many people are nostalgic about the former hotel, with significant links from weddings to parties and events.

This coming weekend M:ADE will be on the high street with a team of artists and young people, around the M&Co site. A huge thank you to CJ at Starbucks who has also agreed to let us have a wee pitch inside the coffee shop!

Please come and talk to us about your Gordon Arms experience. If you have photos, and are willing to share these, we'd love to see them too. With a film maker, photographer and sound producer on site we want to gather your memories in a creative way; content will be used at a later date in our attempts to celebrate the heritage of the building. Feel free to comment too - especially if you can't make chatting with us face to face.

*On Saturday, we will also be joined by a DJ*

If you know of anyone that would resonate with this, please let them know!

Findhorn Bay Arts:
THROWBACK THURSDAY
A timely revisit of Ruby Worth’s extended residency film ahead of our Combine to Create learning report and outcomes film launch in a few weeks’ time.
Ruby’s residency focused on delivering embodied learning activities for primary school children impacted by Covid-19 at Applegrove Primary School in Forres.
This group of young people started their school experience in 2019 at the start of the global pandemic, and this was their first full year together in a school without Covid restrictions.
Working with seven- and eight-year-olds (Primary Four), Ruby used movement to develop and support a process of community building, helping them to explore playful and meaningful connections to each other and the natural world.
This film was developed by Ruby in collaboration with project documentarian Jason Sinclair – click on the link to view the beautiful and moving story of Ruby’s residency:
