My goodness We LOVE an organised kitchen. As a keen cook myself, I know how important it is to have a sorted and thought-through kitchen. The storage in this kitchen was superb. The carousels in particular were a brilliant feature: they’d just become over full and there was no order to them. Look how it looks now. Drawers that open easily, categories that make sense, and a whole lot of lovely matching storage. Once the deterring is done, the part everybody dreads is what to do with all the stuff. The last thing we want is for you to have to trail round charity shops and the recycling centre when we can do it for you. Over the years we have developed lots of community and charity links and we donate consciously and carefully to them. The people we donate to are very grateful for high-quality items we denied and it is a key part of our job. One of the best things about our job is seeing unique homes like this one. A family home like no other, it is bright, bold and beautiful. But it’s also totally open plan and very very BUSY! This reel says it all. Our Christmas Day Out is one of the beer days of the year for us. We have been doing it with our chosen family for years since the kids were on Santa’s knee. Now the eldest are almost 14 but the magic is as strong as ever. The kids all LOVE it so much and it’s a joyful thing to see them light up with happiness each year. They love each other fiercely and the day out is a celebration of that. I couldn’t get through my life without their amazing mums. They help, guide, support and hold me up and it’s wonderful to have an opportunity to raise a glass to that. Christmas can be a super hard time of year for many of us. I have certainly had my fair share of difficult ones. This is our way of noticing we have made it through to December again: together. More meaningful to me the any physical gift. I hope we are still doing this when the kids are towering over us.
