Could YOU or someone you know be our next Café manager?

The Bridge Community Café serves the community of Wester Hailes in Edinburgh as an expression of Christian love in action. We are looking for someone organised and committed who can lead a food business (22 hours/week) with kindness and compassion to enable everyone, volunteers and customers alike, to find their place to flourish. If you love people from all kinds of backgrounds and have a heart to serve them, then this could be the ideal job for you.

Due to the red weather warning for high winds tomorrow (Friday 24th Jan), The Bridge Community Cafe and Fuel will be closed for the day so that people can stay home safely. We will miss our team and customers but will look forward to re-opening normally next week for our usual 10-1.30 hours from Wed-Friday.

Baby it's cold outside.....and the heating costs are going through the roof ! We have Changeworks coming to give free energy (and cost) saving advice next Wednesday 15 January 2025 at The Bridge Cafe. Do come along.

We are open as usual on Wednesday 18th December but then will be closed over the festive period until Wednesday 8th January. If you usually save your weekly pop in for Thurs/Fri, don't miss out this week! We will be back in the New Year with a freshly rested team and all the familiar menu items that you love!

a wee reminder for this week...

We love love love our amazing team of volunteers and so are going to be giving them a very well earned break over the October holidays during the week of 14th October. This means we will be closed from 16th-18th October but that we will be delighted to see you all back with our newly refreshed team the following week! Opening as usual next week.

We're having a Macmillan Coffee Morning. All proceeds from Teas, Coffees, Scones and Cakes going to Macmillan Cancer Support this week. Wednesday 25th Sept - Friday 27th Sept. Do come along and help support this important cause.

Thanks to our wonderful Wednesday volunteering team and cook...getting things going for this week at The Bridge Cafe. Scrummy Shepherds' Pie with Garden Peas on the menu today. Fairtrade Fortnight...so Fairtrade Chocolate Cake and Fairtrade Banana Bread too...... It would be great to see you.

If you know your way to The Bridge Cafe you know your way to The Play Cafe......we use the same space on different days.

Now that schools have resumed, our normal scheduled activities are also back and running. For parents and carers of babies and toddlers we have our Play Cafe from 9.30-11 every term time Monday - drop in at any point for free snacks and hot drinks, toys and crafts, finishing with story and song time.
