That's a wrap on Carmen 24 and, wow, what a journey it's been. We performed to an estimated 350 people, with an orchestra of extraordinary emerging artists, many still in their teens (excellently prepared by their formative experiences with and ).
Our singer-actors delivered four magical performances, each day surpassing the last in terms of artistry and passion to bring together an Aria Alba production like no other.
Thank you to all of our performers, but especially to Suzanne Godet. We were delighted to offer the opportunity to make your first opera together. Also we must thank Max McWhirter for his superlative work as rehearsal accompanist, repertoire coach and best boy on location where he was an invaluable support to both the task and creative team.
We thank the board of Aria Alba for their immeasurable contribution, Stockbridge Parish Church, our guest artists John, Charlie, and Moira, Eilidh our Press Officer, Katalin and Judy as co-production managers, Gill for heading up the props and Kelly for working with the costume team.
Aria Alba is bigger and stronger than ever before, and our growing community is always open to those who want to experience opera, and especially those for whom performing seems like a distant dream.
