Just in High Court Judgment

Justice Jaiteh has delivered a Judgment in the lawsuit of Bora against the IGP and ministry of Justice.

In delivering his Judgment Jaiteh declared that Bora Sissoko detention was unconstitutional, his fundamental right to liberty was violated and he underwent in inhuman treatment in the hand of the police. The court ordered the IGP to desist from arbitrary arrest of citizens and ordered the IGP to return Bora’s iPhone immediately.

The court finally awarded 500,000 compensation in favor Bora against the IGP.

President Adama Barrow appoints Ousman Sowe as Lands Minister

The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, on the powers vested on him by Sections (71)(1) and 71 (3) of the Constitution of the 1997, today, 18th August 2023, has appointed Mr Ousman Sowe as Minister for Lands and Regional Government, effective 1st September 2023.

The Gambia Football Federation is delighted to announce that we have appointed Mr Yahya Manneh of Lamin as Head Coach of the Women's Senior National Team effective Monday 14th August 2023.

Mr Manneh until his recent appointment was the former Assistant Coach of the Gambia U20 team that reached the Round of Sixteen Knock Out phase of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina under Head Coach Abdoulie Bojang.

Yahya Manneh is tasked to rebuild and reshape the Women's Senior National Team. His first assignment will be to lead the national team at the forth coming Africa Women's Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Namibia in September.

Manneh holds a CAF C and B Coaching licenses and is a specialist in youth player development and coaching as his area of study in the UK where he attained FA Youth Module 1&2 qualifications. He also attained RFA/Olympic Solidarity level 3 in coaching besides being certified as a Coach Instructor at the end of a GFF Instructors Training Course

Yahya Manneh is the founder and head coach of KGH Sports Academy and Club
He was the former Assistant and Head Coach of Elite United, Brufut United, Lamin United, Steve Biko and Brentford FC U-21 Academy.

He won awards with the Gambia Young Scorpions at Wafu Zone A and CAF tournaments while serving as Assistant Coach under Matarr Mboge and Abdoulie Bojang, respectively.

Yahya Manneh will be assisted by Mariama Bom Sowe as his immediate assistant while Abuko United Coach Omar Cham will serve as Trainer and Adama Jatta of GAF to remain as Goal keeper Coach. Manneh and his backroom staff are expected to start off technical preparations next week ahead of the Qualifiers for the AWCON finals. The team will train at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum on a regular basis.

How legal is the Senegambia Bridge deal?

It is quite interesting to hear the minister of finance trying to justify the “mortgaging” of the Senegambia Bridge without going through legally accepted channels. Even the very fact that the government intends to take this “loan” of $100 million without going through the National Assembly makes it even more suspicious. The amount is not catered for in the annual budget and therefore, there is no approved budget line indicating how it is going to be spent, which means that they can spend it anyhow they want without any accountability.
Even though the NAMs are currently busy enjoying their newly acquired SUVs, but let’s hope that they would not hesitate to take up their oversight responsibilities by engaging the minister on the matter.

We are aware of this ill and unprofessional practice by some clubs we all have high regard for and expect them to know better. If any club is interested in any of our players, follow the right channels and engage the Club Management rather than trying to induce the player and his family in the background.

Jarra West shall not entertain been disrespected by any club, and we advise the clubs engaging in the shameful act to desist and follow the right channel if they wish to have any of our players.

We shall reveal the identity of the culprit clubs if they persist in doing this shameful act and further report the matter to the GFF. " they concluded!

Makang Baa, the famous Tik Toker stranded in The Gambia 🇬🇲 after his residence permit, was stolen at QCity.

He disclosed: "The bag that was containing my Italian residence permit was stolen during Ruger's show at the Qcity on May 27. I am still here in The Gambia, unable to return to Italy."

According to Makang Ba, he was unable to secure an emergency travel document from the Italian Embassy in Dakar.
