🗻 New Project: KMWC Website Build 🗻

Exciting news! I recently worked with the Kirkintilloch Mountaineering & Walking Club to build and design a new website for them. They needed a website that not only attracts new adventurers but also organises all club info and showcases their stunning walks — all while being super easy to navigate. I accepted the challenge!

The result? A sleek, user-friendly website that lets the scenery do the talking! 🌄

From breathtaking mountain top photos to seamless navigation, the site now captures the essence of their outdoor adventures while cutting down on admin work for the team.

But that's not all! I’ll be keeping it updated with their seasonal walking programs, ensuring the club is always one step ahead (pun intended 😉).

6 things I have done for my business this month (as a business owner):

1. I changed my office around which probably doesn't sound very important but it's changed my energy and creativity. What do you think?
2. I joined the PLM community membership. It's the perfect membership for me because I love learning and love being part of something!
3. I listened to a great podcast episode by called Girls That Startup: Maia and Sim are in a rut with their businesses. It was all about being struck in a rut with work/life. After spending the best part of this year in a work rut, it helped hearing that it is in fact not just me and has really helped lift me out of it.
4. I checked in on my business goals, evaluated where I was at with them, changed them, made some new ones and created a new plan to reach them.
5. I invested in a business planner from by which has given me structure again and a plan to follow.
6. I booked some networking events for September so that I have plenty to look forward to.

Hello! I am Sophie, the founder of Sophie Jones Social. It feels like it has been awhile since my last 'get to know me' post! I can't believe it is nearly August, where has this year gone?! 😅

I started SJS at the end of November 2020 which means I've been doing this for 3 and a bit years now. It's not been easy but nothing worthwhile ever is and this year has been the most challenging yet. I strongly believe that any difficult periods (in life or business) are necessary and are actually periods of growth and change. I always lean on what I have learnt during these times, some learnings that have helped me and might help others are:

- Your business network and personal friendships will keep you going when times are tough.
- No one is coming to rescue you, you have to rescue yourself. Being your own boss means having hard conversations with yourself.
- Motivation will disappear, routine and consistency will keep you going.
- Nothing trumps simply *doing the work*. Procrastination makes everything seem overwhelming but finding a way to break out of that cycle and get your head down will make everything easier.

I would love to know what pearls of wisdom you tell yourself to help you through tough times/cycles in life?

We have had a very client focused year which means we haven't been as active on socials but I am going to share some of our work and the things we have achieved for our clients so keep your eyes peeled 👀

The social metric we think you should care about maybe isn't what you think it is...🧐

We see success as quality over quantity which is why we think you should care about your engagement metric over your follower count.

Sure it's important to grow your follower count but what are your current followers doing? Are they engaging with your content? (commenting, liking, sharing and saving). If you are thinking 'not really' then it is time to focus on the content you are creating. If you want to get them hooked, focus on creating content that gives a follower something valuable like an actionable piece of information, a laugh, a minute to escape or inspiration.

Measuring your engagement metric each month and checking in on it throughout the month can tell you if your current audience is engaged and interested. If you notice it drop look at the content you have created and see how you can improve on it.

Once your current audience is engaged in your content, new followers will well follow!

WOW what a year!

Last Tuesday I travelled up to Inverness and officially graduated from Impact30 alongside Rachel (.co) 🥳

Run by and delivered by , Impact30 is a year long programme that helps develop your business while also developing you, as an entrepreneur. It did everything it promised to do and more. I have learnt so much and have met so many really lovely people along the way. It's helped grow my confidence, it's given me a direction to work towards and it's given me the tools that I need to get there.

Through Impact30 I received a years worth of 1:1 coaching and was super lucky to have as my coach. I always looked forward to my coaching sessions and to be honest, I feel a little lost without them! It's unbelievably helpful having an experienced entrepreneur like David on your side.
