We're delighted to share our last Author Feature of 2024 .k.kraus ✨

L. K. Kraus is a writer, editor, literary translator, and the founder and editor-in-chief of Hillfire Press. She is the author the ‘Spirals’ in Hillfire Anthology Vol. II.

She says, ‘This story will always remind me of my grandma, who was a very special person. My sister told me I managed to capture what being in her house felt like, which is one of the best writing compliments I’ve received.’

You can read the full story in Hillfire Anthology Vol. II, available now on our website and in Edinburgh bookshops

Kraus is also a canoe ocean racing athlete and a member of the GB national team. She recently competed at the World Championships, where she finished 27th! We’re so proud to feature her work and to have her at the helm of Hillfire!

As we get started on Volume IV, here's a look back at Hillfire Press. Founded in 2022, Lena Kraus, brought together a team of writers and creators to begin Hillfire Press. Their goal was to develop an anthology that featured emerging authors with fresh and unique voices. The Hillfire Anthology, Volume 1 was published that May.
