CALLING BLAENAU GWENT MUSICIANS!!

Ebbw Vale Institute are giving one lucky musician from Blaenau Gwent the chance to win a 12 month bursary place on the fantastic new Music Production, Song Writing and Business Coaching platform - Session Recall, led by producer and label owner Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses, Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys).

The winner will receive free Session Recall membership and an enrolment on to their Silver Package for 12 months. You will receive one to one mentoring with industry professionals, business coaching, songwriting tips, online courses, access to production workshops and songwriting camps, discount codes for equipment and have help with your music moving forward.

All you need to do is email an MP3 of your song of choice, with a simple paragraph about yourself and why you think you should get the place on the programme, what it would mean to you to win, and you will be entered into the competition.

A judging panel consisting of Producer and label owner Nick Brine, Jon Constantine (university lecturer and business coach, Producer/engineer), Max Rafferty (The Kooks) and a representative from Ebbw Vale Institute will choose their winner.

Afternoon all. For anyone who works freelance within the music industry, the creative sector or the arts in general, please have a look at the information below.

Today the arts council have opened an urgent response fund for individuals impacted by the corona virus lockdown. You'll need to submit a CV, references (people who may have booked you or hired you for performing, playing) and then answer the following questions
1 - Tell us about what you do, the range and type of your work, and any important achievements that you want us to know about.

2. Please tell us briefly how COVID-19 has affected your freelance income due to the cancellation of existing and future work.

3. Are you currently in receipt of any other Arts Council of Wales funding? (If yes, please provide details.)

4. Please tell us why you are ineligible for the Government Job Retention Scheme and Self employment Income Support Scheme.

5. Are you seeking financial assistance from anywhere else? Do you expect to be successful?

The link included in this post will take you to the arts council page. For people who have been affected by the lockdown and loss of earnings during this time I strongly recommend reading through the guidelines in the ink attached.

For the foreseeable future, we've taken the decision to transition our business online and put a temporary halt to any recording, production work or attended mixing sessions at Leeders Vale.

This doesn't mean we're going to stop working but also completely understand the current climate especially for musicians who'd usually be gigging or promoting themselves at this moment in time. We're still available for remote sessions such as online mixing and mastering, tuning etc. Nick runs a Neve system with UAD Converters and Jons got his SSL Mac Pro system thats been running the studio environment

In addition, we're also thinking about setting up a facebook group for musicians to offer help and advice on anything related to your career. It could be for anyone starting out, working on music at the moment, whether it's working on the foundation of the band, promoting yourselves, releasing music or songwriting. We want to help you and want to build a community for you guys to help each other out. We're still working on this a little at the moment but as soon as we get a bit more worked out we'll update you all.
