Light experiences feature a breathtakingly vivid crimson bloomscape, magical interactive metallic touch stones, and even an opportunity to walk on water!

For a few extra special nights the trail is enhanced by mischief, magic and fun from fire jugglers, aerial artists and characters from Steamship Circus.

WIN A HANDCRAFTED GLASS CHRISTMAS DECORATION

Glass artist Sue Tinkler has been developing her practice since 2010, learning from international artists and specialising in different techniques, including casting, enamels, fusing, hot glass, metal work, pate-de-verre and slumping. She has developed her own individual style by mixing techniques and materials and incorporating printmaking methods and typography.

Sue also runs her own studio where she teaches a range of courses. The most recent was a sell-out Christmas decorations charity workshop. Attendees were invited to make two decorations, one to keep while donating the other to the Wi******er Hospice for them to sell at their own fundraiser events. All proceeds went to Wi******er Hospice.

Sue undertakes commissions for glass splashbacks as well as teaching courses such as glass wall art, glass dishes, and mini glass landscape courses to beginners. Gift vouchers for her courses start from £10.

SEASONAL SPECIAL at AMPFIELD MARKET

The next Ampfield Market is being held on Sat 7 Dec, and will be a special Christmas event with top quality locally sourced goodies for sale including collectibles, crafts, cards, jewellery, wrapping paper, as well as fresh bread, cakes, honey, fruit and veg, plants and more. The Market is also a popular meeting place with coffee, tea and homemade cakes served during the morning.

Ampfield Market is now celebrating its 25th year, and takes place in Ampfield Village Hall, 10am-12noon, on the first Saturday of the month (excluding January and August), with free entry and free parking.

Dream Empire Events LTD are excited to announce the first of many events we will be hosting this Winter.
The Winter Fair kicks off the season, with small local businesses selling their Christmas ranges, with food & drink, entertainment, music, face painting, Sensory room and not forgetting the man of the moment, Father Christmas 🎅

Father Christmas will be in his Grotto for meet & greet and each child will receive a gift. You are welcome to stop for as many photos as you like.

Entry into the event itself is free, but the cost per child of meeting Father Christmas is £8.

Free on site parking is also available, but is limited.

Selfie with Paddington

A ‘Beary’ special statue has been unveiled in Southampton as part of Paddington Visits, a project celebrating the release of the third Paddington film. This is one of 23 Paddington statues on a nationwide trail from John
O’Groats to Lands End.

This carefully crafted statue sports the bear’s trademark red hat, duffle coat and, of course, a marmalade sandwich. Just perfect for a fun family selfie with everyone’s favourite bear.

Awards for Chandler’s Ford!

Chandler’s Ford has scooped some impressive awards in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Village of the Year Competition 2024. Chandler’s Ford was Winner in the Excellence in Localism Award and Runner Up for Best Open Space Award.

The Excellence in Localism reflects the work that goes into Chandler’s Ford Parish Council’s strong links with community associations, scout and guide groups as well as their work with Youth Options. It also acknowledges the vital part that Fryern Funtasia (organised by the Parish Council) plays in bringing local charities and community groups together, providing a free event that is accessible to all.

Best Open Space runner Up recognised the amazing spaces in Chandler’s Ford including the wildflower meadows and the work that goes into maintaining and protecting them.

Last but certainly not least, a well done to Hilary Blaker who was Clerk of the Year Runner Up 2024 in the Awards, organised by the Hampshire Association of Local Councils. JOIN THE PUMPKIN PARADE!

This autumn half term you’ll find lots of pumpkin-themed fun round and about.

Pumpkin Time, Sunnyfields Farm.
Get immersed in this colourful pumpkin experience (1-31 Oct) with seasonal displays for great photo opportunities and you can pick your own from thousands of pumpkins and squashes to decorate.

Picking Patch, Bickton Manor Farm, Fordingbridge (12-13, 19-20, 25-31 Oct).
Masses of spooky fun with a Murder Mystery Maze, PYO pumpkins, witch’s house, witch craft emporium for Hallowe’en party outfits, a pop-up escape room, plus hot chocolates and marshmallow toasting!

Pumpkin Parade, Mottisfont, National Trust near Romsey.
Follow the Pumpkin Parade trail (19 Oct-3 Nov) to discover spooky Hallowe’en activities. Spot skeletons in the cellarium, and climb and crawl in the Creepy Critters climbing area. Kids can also help the gardens team create compost by whizzing round with mini wheelbarrows and rakes to fill leaf bins.
