Originally designed in 1976, the recently refurbished studios are situated on the south coast in a large residential studio complex. Echo Zoo continues the legacy of what was one of the UK's music scene's best kept secrets. Artists who have recorded in these rooms include : Sir Paul McCartney, JTQ, Chris Difford, Karl Hyde & Rick Smith (Underworld) M (Pop Muzik), Toploader, Steve Osborne (Happy Mo

ndays, U2, New Order) and Paul Jones. Already the first artists, labels and producers across the Electric Zoo threshold include: Ed Harcourt, Luke Sital-Singh, Duke Special, Holy Esque, Iain Archer, Soft Swells, Nordic Giants, Hudson Taylor, Jon Schumann (Mew, Kent), Joseph Washbourn, James Bay, Foreign Slippers, Polydor & Parlophone.

We know it’s super tough making records especially with today’s financial pressures and we’d like to help. So throughout October and November we are offering a DIY solution for artists. You can come and use one of our three live rooms (subject to availability ) and this absolutely lovely Vjntage Neve console and a wide range of our top notch back line for just the price of well equipped rehearsal room. The deal is You get 10 hours for £120, engineer yourself or bring an engineer and your own mics and DAW/Interface .. Perfect for any overdubs, guitar, bass, drums or vocals or even a cool full live set in a nice sounding sound proofed room. If you require any extra mics etc we can of course help out for a nominal hire fee. Go get yourself some no-nonsense DIY recording fun. Dm for more info.

New addition albeit a currently very sorry for itself Vjntage U87 to join our other 5 originals.. Rescued and getting ready to be put back to its former glory. This one has a particularly interesting history as it was Manny Charlton’s from Nazareth microphone. Not many people know that Manny produced the original demos of Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction album at Sound City at Axel’s request as he was a huge Nazareth fan, in fact they went on to cover ‘ Hair of the Dog ‘

Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of Steve Albini’s passing. A true one off who understood the real value of creating is the creating itself ! Steve oversaw so many of our favourite records from our favourite artists. He understood the studio is a tool and helped artists delve deep inside themselves to discover or rediscover why what and how they could turn their musical ideas into reality. Steve knew he didn’t hold the answers that an artist was sometimes looking for, but they had the answer already, and simply by holding a mirror to them he helped them find it.. His wisdom and knowledge lives on ! R.I.P
