So here's 'fun' - the main shoot for Charlie Shaw's Revenge was 25 days long (including days off) during which it rained nearly every other day.

Today marks exactly 25 days since we wrapped during which it hasn't rained once!

That's filmmaking. In the UK, anyway! šŸ˜‚

DROP DEAD FILMS RELEASES FIRST PICTURE OF OTTO THE CLOWN TO CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON 'CHARLIE SHAW'S REVENGE'

Drop Dead Films Ltd, the Eastbourne-based award-winning film production company, celebrated the completion of principal photography on its latest feature film 'Charlie Shaw's Revenge' by releasing a first-look image of the eponymous character of the film.

Charlie Shaw's alter ego, a clown called Otto, played by 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' and 'Captain America: The First Avenger' actor James Payton (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1246512/), is featured in this iconic image taken by Sarah Olivier Photography. Make-up is by Kate Griffiths (http://www.theatricalmakeupartist.com/) and costume is by Anastasia Jardin (https://linktr.ee/anastasiajardin).

The plot of the film is being kept under wraps for the time being, but Charlie Shaw and Otto play a key role in the film, which completed principal photography at the weekend.

Director John Langridge and Producer Justin Hayward will be taking news of the production to the Cannes Film Festival this week, along with their plans for other intellectual property around the film and Drop Dead Films Ltd's up-coming slate.

And so, we wrap. We have finished principal photography, unit base is being emptied of kit (and blood. Lots of blood).

Keep an eye out on here tomorrow for the very first character shot which will be a doozie.

Thanks for following along and thanks especially for our hard working cast and crew. And rememberā€¦

Hello all. Today, we rest. Tomorrow, we are in the woods. Last night, there was blood. Lots of it. And the night before. So the camera crew were suitably prepared. They must have watched a lot of Blue Peter when they were growing up.

Featured is our amazing Amelie Leroy, with Keri Hinna Martin in the background.

Hello Fun-seekers.

As it's bin day again, and that means the weekend is imminent, here's an extra-special picture for you.

The cast had a huge amount of fun on this night, as you can see. The woods were dressed fantastically by the art department on the night, comprising art director Laz Warwick and art department assistant Suzanna Easton, along with our other college students. The costumes were created by Anastasia Jardin and her team and makeup by Kate Griffiths with support from her assistants.

The fire was providing warmth and the team had great bonhomie singing a song, ably led by our sound recordist Matt Wilkinson.

Drinks were supplied by the fabulous Greg from Beer Me Brewery.

This will be a night amongst some great nights that will stay with us in our memory.

Thank you for your support and we'll keep posting until we finish the end of principle photography.

Evening all! Firstly, weā€™d like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers to the weather gods last night. Itā€™s possible that Knockhatch was the only place in the country that didnā€™t have a deluge. Consequently we got some amazing footage of an especially special scene in the film.

Secondly, look at that fabulous sunset over the overflow car park. We are on day 16 and thereā€™s more death coming tonight!

Additionally we wrapped the amazing James Payton last night and we canā€™t wait to show you who he plays.

Keep posted, please do continue to share and like and donā€™t forget

Hello friends! Sorry for the silence over the past week. Apparently, someone took umbridge with our updates on how filming was progressing, tried to get our page deleted and then Facebook limited our ability to post for the last few days.

Filming has been storming ahead - luckily for the most part without the storms, although this week is a little iffy - and we are cracking through the pages.

We're now into the last week of principle photography and tonight we're joined by the entire cast for a shindig on screen, so cross your fingers for us for good weather later.

Thanks for your support, please do like and share this page to help us reach a wider audience and don't forget -

Evening all! Itā€™s little tentā€™s time to shine this evening - doesnā€™t it look glorious all lit up?

Weā€™ll be asking for your prayers to the weather gods next week after a fine and clear couple of days.

Keep fun-seeking fellow horror and film fans. And have a good night.

As we consume yet another coffee, we like to browse the socials to see how our cast and crew are feeling about the shoot so far. Looks like Billy Cashin is feeling the power of the fantastic location at Knockhatch Adventure Park. And he was an absolute trooper last night. Well done Billy!

Good evening fun-seekers. As the sun sets over the Wallaby it signifies the start of block 3 of filming here at Knockhatch.

It will be a long and spooky night, not least because the turkeys keep getting startled by the lighting crew.

We are in a place of darkness tonight.

And someone is getting killed.

This is what itā€™s all about!

Also, many happy returns to one of our brilliant actors Molly Cattanach who is also a stunt performer extraordinaire! Have a great day Molly.

Happy May Day to you all! It's a day off here before we start Block 3 of filming tomorrow evening.

We are really, really pleased with what we've got in the digital can so far and we'd like to thank you for your support and interest with all your likes and comments, following us on our journey in making this film.

SO, here's a tantalising sneaky-peak of our brilliant costume designer Anastasia Jardin sewing up a certain character's sleeve. But whose?

All will be revealed in time.

Looks a little like something from Close Encounters of the Third Kind but no, itā€™s just Big Top and Little Top looking at us, wondering why their night time slumbers have been broken.

The lights are on and thereā€™s trouble inside. And that trouble will go on until around 4:00 am when we wrap our second block of filming, have a couple of days off to recharge and reset and get back to the business of show on Tuesday.

Good evening and a happy Friday to you all.

We hope you have a restful bank holiday weekend. The team worked incredibly hard last night and we are back on set this evening to film more horror goodness.

Hereā€™s our fantastic DOP Sam lying down on the job again. But never fear! Art assistant Harrison is on stand-by to give him the, ahem, motivation required to get the shot!

Always remember, itā€™s good to stop and smell the roses - and the bluebells and other pretty white flowers - when you can when making a film.

What's this? A dragon? What ARE we doing? This isn't the Witcher, or Game of Thrones?!? This is Hailsham, for goodness sakes!

Well, all will be revealed in time and I'm delighted to say that this isn't the only thing breathing fire in the film. We had an absolutely stellar day with one of our actors yesterday who learned a new skill super-quickly and just made the film step up a notch by performing their own stunt, under the brilliant guidance of our resident expert Renato Pires.

We have such sights to show you...

Good morning! It's BIN DAY here, always a cause to celebrate.

For your delight on this overcast Thursday, we would like to share a picture of the BEST DOGGO on set, Baxter Griffiths. He has been a constant source of cuddles and waggy tails since we began shooting, chauffer-driven to set by Jay and our award-winning makeup artist Kate Griffiths.

We are hoping the weather is going to behave itself tonight but, just like getting dressed to go out on the town (I think I remember doing that), we have options in case it doesn't.

Thanks for your support. Please do like and share this page and we will keep posting what we can from set.

We are incredibly grateful for the access to this fabulous location. We hope you enjoy it on screen as much as we do filming in it.

The team was back on set today and we ACTUALLY SAW SOME SUNSHINE! Inconceivable!

No pictures of the set today as there were a LOT of spoilers going on, but everyone had a good chuckle at one of the producers - this time for all the right reasons.

We're edging back to night shoots later in the week, but we've got a cast announcement to make in the meantime.

Another key character in the film has come on board. We'd like to welcome actor Neil Burgess to the team.

You'll know Neil from a certain cleaning product advert that he's been starring in for around two decades. Yes. That one.

This way for fun!

24/04/2023

It's a day off - yay! The team worked incredibly hard last night in and around Knockhatch until 3.00 am so today is a well-earned rest before the next block kicks off tomorrow.

We'd especially like to shout out to our enthusiastic and energetic trainees from the local college who have been running for us, supporting hair, makeup and camera and generally providing a great energy on set over the past couple of days. It's fantastic to see such enthusiasm and desire to work in the film industry at a time where there's a great skills shortage (due to the success of the film industry here).

Onwards!

Our first night shoot of the production tonight and so the trusty Luton van is being loaded up with kit and being driven into Knockhatch Adventure Park. But wait! What is that logo on the side? šŸ¤”šŸ§šŸ‘€

21/04/2023

Good morning from set! Letā€™s hope it stays this wayā€¦

Update: Reader, it did not. So we are inside the red and white tent this morning.

FURTHER UPDATE: It DID stop, we CRUSHED it, and we have some AMAZING footage in the hard drive (no one uses cans anymore). Yay!

ERM...OTHER EDIT?: We tried this photo in 3D to give you a little flavour of what it is like but the Facebook machine literally turned into a melting cyborg which is completely the wrong genre for our film so we turned it back to bog-standard (get it? Rain joke? No? OK) 2D, so you'll just have to imagine being here....

UNLESS.....!

You'd like to win the chance to come on set with us? And see how a film is made? And get shouted at by the DIRECTOR WHO APPARENTLY HAS ALWAYS HAD A LOUD VOICE ITS JUST HOW IT IS ALRIGHT HE DOESN'T MEAN IT, YEAH?

So if you like and share this PAGE to literally everyone you know, can get down to Knockhatch easily and want to come on set and meet some brilliant actors then you know what to do.

DISCLAIMER: This may be cancelled at short notice due to weather and schedule changes. No monetary equivalent will be supplied. You agree to enter the set and location at your own risk. A winner will be chosen in the next week and contacted via Facebook.

Otherwise, we're going to focus on making a film.

Up to you, Thanks love.

When things look impossible, take a breath and look at the world from a different angleā€¦

As always, the weather can play havoc with independent films, and today was no exception for us.

There was supposed to be a heatwave all week. šŸ˜‚

So, we šŸ™ƒ, got some amazing stuff shot and when the weather had thrown its strop, we re-balanced, flexed, and showed it what we can do with a great team around us.

This isnā€™t a challenge to the weather to do its worst. This is an acknowledgement that weather happens, and we will adapt. And win.

Featuring the fabulous talents of (L2R): Molly Cattanach, Renato Pires and Keri Hinna Martin, as well as various other nefarious people who we will introduce to you over the coming days.

Day 1 is in the can! Great stuff was achieved and what better place to finish filming for the day than in the largest garden shed in the world...well, Hailsham at least!

We are hoping that the rain doesnā€™t disrupt us too much over the next couple of days, so please pray to the weather gods for us and send good vibrations.

Thanks for following!
