My client today had some amazing clothes in her wardrobe. However; she was only wearing 30% of her clothes because her wardrobe was jam packed and she was overwhelmed. When this happens, you only end up wearing the clothes that are convenient, whether they’re at the top of a pile or in the middle of your wardrobe.

Some like to organise and section wardrobes by colour, and while this looks visually appealing, it’s not always the most effective way.

My client had got into a few repeat buying habits so we did a big edit with “sell” and “charity shop” piles.

I then re organised my client’s wardrobe by category. Once I’d decluttered and got everything out of the wardrobe, I put them back on the rail in sections…work trousers, shirts, spring outerwear, ‘going out’ tops, etc. Now we are out of party season I put the party wear at the end of the wardrobe with the summer holiday bits. My client can then move things around as the seasons change.

If you categorise your wardrobe in this way, you can find things much more easily and you can get more creative with the outfits you build. It helps you see what you’ve got too!

My new favourite wardrobe piece is this yellow scarf from ASOS.

While watching Black Doves on Netflix recently, two things distracted me.

One was being constantly distracted that Sam is actually Paddington Bear 😂 and the other was how much I needed Helen’s (Keira Knightley) scarf.

I tracked down a very similar one and I’m sharing it here for my fellow Autumn girlies!

HNY! 👋🏻🥳

My new journal arrived yesterday, just in time for the first day of a new year.

This will keep all my private musings, from daily gratitude, affirmations and manifestations (I know it’s a marmite word but when done properly it works!).

I sketch my mad feelings, thoughts and desires, and nobody sees it but me at the end of each day. I have big plans for 2025 both personally and professionally and I’m excited to have a beautiful new journal to take them from brain to paper!

SBS plans for 2025 so far….

⭐️ I have a weekly magazine column coming out in January. I can’t wait to share it with you all when I’m allowed to announce it! It’s a weekly double page spread with my top tips for staying stylish. Each week has a different theme.

⭐️ The podcast will be taking on a different format as I include the team on each episode! We will have fun chit chats about life and each week will have a different style theme.

⭐️ I have been invited to speak on a panel at a business event in Mayfair *gulp*

⭐️ Spreading more joy, confidence and style tips with our in person sessions, online sessions, on social media and our private members’ area on Patreon.

🙏🏼 I will be going into my 13th year of running Styled By Susie and I’d like to thank everyone for their love and support. From the early clients who booked me for local style parties, to new clients and returning ones.

Honest opinion about skinny jeans….

Straight cut, wide leg, boyfriend, dad, mom, brother in law jeans YES they have a place. I love a mom, girlfriend and cousin jean.

But skinny jeans are an essential for every woman no matter whaaaaaat Tik Tok say.

Skinny jeans are so handy for days when you want a looser top or cosy knit. Plus they look great with boots and they tend to be more comfortable than a stiffer pair of auntie and step mom jeans.
