'Mr Buckland's Museum', a play in three acts, features a new arrangement of an old (and obscure) musical hall song form the Victorian era. "Walking in the Zoo" has been given a new lease of life by Cameron Clark Cameron Clark Music with an updated lyric from my somewhat irreverent pen. The song is performed in the play by Frank Buckland's father, William Buckland, who was for a time the Dean of Westminister.

'Mr Buckland's Museum' is a new and very limited edition from 1320Elements. It's an unproduced play that compliments my previously published novel and non-fiction work about Frank Buckland. It finishes off everything I've tried to say about Frank Buckland, the most famous Victorian you've never heard of. Available only by special request from 1320Books.

Nice to report a very postive review of my book, 'The Fragmented World of the Mongoose Lemur' by Laura Charlotte Praill, a field primatologist writing in Primate Eye, the journal of the Primate Society of Great Britain.

“Michael Stephen Clark’s book about the critically endangered mongoose lemur is a fascinating and comprehensive round of up of species fragmented existence…The use of the mongoose lemur to demonstrate the profound effect of anthropogenic activity on nature very effectively illustrates the issues faced by many species globally. The book is accessible to an informed, general readership, and makes wonderful reading for experts and enthusiasts alike. In depth coverage about broader topics such as conservation on the island of Madagascar and the issues faced by island endemics pose broader questions about the successes and failings of conservationists working in these areas.” LCP, Winter 2023.

'Why Do Humans Sing to the Stars?', is a story that anticipates the evolution of artificial intelligence and the end of the machine age. It’s set in a time of far-reaching environmental change, which is also an important strand. Partly inspired Chris Marker’s La Jetée, this audio-visual treat takes you on a journey to a future Earth that is scary and strange, but still wondrous.
