^ Accurate representation of the timeline of my emotions when I heard ‘The Suit’ just won its first award at a film festival 🎥🎬

I was director of photography on this wee short film way back in the distant before-time of 2019 with a great cast & crew. Nice to see it getting some recognition in America! It won the Beatrice Platt Romano Award for Best Film about modern life in Ireland at the 9th Annual Glennfest Film Festival in Downey, CA 🇺🇸

WRAPPED in the wee hours of this morning after being Director of Photography on this month-long film project for Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's, produced and directed by Armchair & Rocket 🎥

For this project I shot a series independent poetic, spoken word and musical pieces in London, Dublin & Belfast, culminating last night in an ensemble livestream from the Great Hall at QUB to an audience in the USA. We had the pleasure of filming some literary and musical talents including , , Marian Keyes, Tim Wheeler (Ash) and (THE) 👏

Thanks to Jude Sharvin from A&R, Johnny Frazer and Jonny Weston for the help in numerous creative, logistical & technical aspects of production along the way and to all the Queen’s / SHC team; Rachel Brown, Craig Jackson, Helen Carrick, Nathalie Trott, Ian Greer & Julie Garrett who pulled this together and trusted us to make something really different and worthwhile. Hopefully we can share some clips soon! Shot on Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro G2 & Aputure lighting.

More TV work I shot being shown tomorrow night, BBC Northern Ireland (One) @ 7pm: ’Northern Irish Holidays’, produced & directed by Afro-Mic Productions ☀️📺 🎥

Would not have been able to get all these contributors shot (looking in any way decent) had it not been for the dream team in my camp on location… Georgia Barker assisting & Will Archer on second cam. They stepped up to the plate and worked like trojans despite some tricky logistics and crazy days/nights travelling all over the country back in Feb and March this year. Shot on Blackmagic Design Ursa Mini Pro G2 & Pocket 6K with some dirty wides being shot on the FS5, ZEISS Cinematography CP2s & Aputure lighting.

The new TV ad I shot for the Department for Communities ‘Jobstart’ programme is out. Really simple brief this one with just four straight portrait shots, but a fun & super chill shoot as always with the dream team at Armchair & Rocket.

WRAPPED on 29 shoot days across 10 months for 4 BBC Northern Ireland TV documentaries featuring 94 contributors and 1,869 miles travelled for Afro-Mic Productions 🎥

NORTHERN IRISH ‘WEDDINGS’ - ‘CHRISTMAS’ - ‘SCHOOL DAYS’ - ‘HOLIDAYS’: This series was shot entirely throughout COVID with interviews conducted via Zoom and was a really challenging but super rewarding project to get my teeth into. The brief was for the majority of the filming to take place in peoples homes, meaning following strict Covid protocols right from the first lockdown last year until the current one, remote camera operating, wireless monitoring/communication and for only one crew member to be on location doing camera, lights & sound (me). Thankfully my amazing girlfriend Georgia Barker stepped in to offer help as a general assistant since we live together, with her having had no previous media experience at all. She not only knocked it out of the park straight away and picked everything up really quickly, but subsequently became instrumental in us making our day countless times and is now an MFTV certified CAMERA assistant 💪 For the larger, socially-distanced interview setups on “School Days”, we needed a much bigger lighting rig and extra coverage so drafted in Will Archer as a second cam op & chief problem-solver on set. Will killed it without fail and, again, I couldn’t have done it without him coming on board 👊 Everyone in the remote production team behind the scenes at Afro-Mic were great too and kept us on track throughout; thanks again to them and a special thanks to Edel O’Mahony who provided counselling through various technical and logistical nightmares from afar! We got there in the end and I learned a whole heap from being thrown into the deep end of something like this, so thanks to director Emma-Rosa for trusting me and throwing me in 😅

Starts tonight, 9pm 🚨 I got to work as camera trainee across a month last year on Line of Duty Season 6 and it was mental/wet/windy/awesome.

I worked with some really talented people and I learned a lot, so happy days! 🎥

Check out this mini documentary I shot for Beat Carnival which has just been released 🎥

Produced, directed and edited by Peter Neill at www.paper-machines.co.uk. Camera assistant - Georgia Barker 🎬

The guys at 'Beat' do some great work and were super accommodating while we filmed them recently. It's a shame their artistic creations aren't getting their usual outing in Belfast today, but this doc tells you a little about what they're all about and what's going on behind the scenes in spite of COVID.
