Delighted to have Palliro join High Fade tomorrow at The Venue Dumfries - a topper of an addition to the local offering! Check back tomorrow for stage times 💥💥
Emerging from the town of Dumfries, Palliro is a breath of fresh air in the music scene. Formed in 2023, this four-piece band brings a soothing and laid-back vibe to the indie genre with a bit of crunch for good measure, creating music that’s as reflective as it is engaging. Palliro’s sound is a blend of chilled indie melodies, smooth rhythms, and introspective lyrics that resonate with listeners on a deep level.

With our High Fade show just ONE WEEK AWAY, we’re delighted to bring on board Moonlight Scythe to open the show.
Moonlight Scythe are a hard-hitting metal three-piece based out of Glasgow. Their exciting original material takes influence from classic hard-rock and metal bands like Judas Priest, Metallica and Rush; all while injecting their own creative song structures, fiery breakdowns and spacey interludes. Their songs bounce from introspective sounds to breakneck speeds, and this translates into live performances which are dynamic and memorable.

We go through a ton of drum heads at the studio, and typically replace them with life left in them for someone. We’d love to reduce waste and find our used heads a new home to see out the rest of their life instead of skipping them. We have a stack of 10,12,14 & 16 batter heads or varying types here, please get in touch if you can make use of them. Ideally we’d like them to go to youth or community organisations, charities or individuals who struggle to afford replacements. Please dm us if you fit that criteria (no chancers 🧐) 🌈🌈🌈
We feel the time is right to start playing our part in the local live scene once again and we’re thrilled to share some amazing shows, parties and events with you in the coming months! We’re absolutely buzzin’ to lead with the raucous, danceable, unadulterated funk of Edinburgh’s High Fade! How good is this gonna be!! 🤩

Next up in the DISCOVER series we have YABBA. Hot off the heels of the release of their new single JAWBONE, and word this week that the band will feature as part of this year's Great Escape festival in Brighton, they bring you their raucous rendition of JAWBONE, live and in session for Circa 16 Sound Recording! Produced by Meg Dickinson-Hood and Finlay Keenan. Videography by Ruari Barber-Fleming. Audio mixed and mastered by Meg Dickinson-Hood at Circa 16 Sound Recording. Special thanks to YABBA, The Stove Network, The Stove Cafe and SW Audio. Supported through Youth Music's Incubator Fund thanks to funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
For those of you looking for a more subdued Saturday night, sit back and soak up the lounge sounds of the amazingly talented Fraser Clark, in session for Circa 16 Sound Recording, with his OG composition "The Absolute Elsewhere". Fraser started playing the classical piano at 12. At 16, he attended the junior department of what was then the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.Although classically trained, Fraser began learning jazz from the age of 17. He attended Glasgow University where he achieved his master’s degree in music, specialising in composition. In 2018 he received his first professional commission, from the Ferio Saxophone Quartet. The work was performed at the Theatre Royal in Dumfries in 2019. Fraser has released a solo EP, titled ‘From the Depths’, which features five original tracks. Video produced by Finlay Keenan & Meg Dickinson-Hood. Videography by Ruari Barber-Fleming. Audio mixed & Mastered by Finlay Keenan at Circa 16 Sound Recording.
Our latest DISCOVER session video is live, and features the fantastic duo Siblings. Siblings is made up of Steven Thomas and Prussia Snailham - two solo artists that come together for a much needed and refreshing collaboration. Prussia Snailham is a solo songwriter and producer based in Glasgow. Her work is crafted in her bedroom on her piano and laptop. Influenced by movie soundtracks and hip-hop, her songs are minimal and mournful, sung in a theatrical, dynamic voice with lyrics that land heavy and are triggeringly relatable. Steven Thomas is a spoken word artist and published writer, he has been writing since he was a young teen and putting spoken word to music since late 2017… the two come together to form the band Siblings. ‘DISCOVER’ is the studio’s talent development project which opens up sustainable employment within music industry careers for the 18-25s. Two successful applicants joined the team and led the ‘DISCOVER Sessions’ project, curated the lineup, designed the “look and feel” of the production and produced the video and sound recording for the work. Produced by Meg Dickinson-Hood and Finlay Keenan Videography by Ruari Barber-Fleming Audio mixed and mastered by Meg Dickinson-Hood at Circa 16 Sound Recording Special thanks to Steven Thomas & Prussia Snailham, The Stove Network, The Stove Cafe and Sandy Sweetman at SW Audio. Supported through Youth Music's Incubator Fund thanks to funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Next up in our DISCOVER session video series in Euan Pattie. Love this hybrid approach to electronic music performance that draws influence from DJ'ing, hip hop sampling and studio sequencing. Produced by Meg Dickinson-Hood and Finlay Keenan, as part of the studio's talent development programme, the series pulls together performance videos from some of the best musical talent from across Scotland.
Back in October we launched a brand new talent development project - "Discover". We put together a small project team made up of emerging talent from right here in Dumfries And Galloway, who were tasked with producing our latest series of live performance, "in session", videos. We're super chuffed with the diverse line-up they curated, and love the look of the videos! We'll introduce you to the team, and the complete series soon, but to kick us off, here is Dobro Dave & Chazz, with their soulful rendition of Cry To Me.
We were sad that Edinburgh band wrest weren't able to perform at The Venue Dumfries tonight, so for all of you who were looking forward to it, check out a live, acoustic, version of their track "Adventurers" for us at last year's Doonhame Festival. Video: Ruari Barber-Fleming Media
We've got another one of the winter covers videos for you. Next up, local band Tiderays tackle the classic, "Running Up That Hill", live in session. Video: PurpleBox Productions
