A Conversation with Keira Mackey
We spoke to Keira Mackey, the lead actress in our upcoming film 'AFTER', about her time on set and her love of acting. Working with Keira was an absolute dream and we can't wait for you to see the incredible work she's done!
Manannan's Cloak Over Ramsey
Just a quick update from us here at Crebbinsdale Media, with a video we captured the other night of Manannan's cloak over Ramsey!
We've been super busy these last couple of weeks, working on our short film "AFTER" (which is now with the composer and soon to be filmed) and at the Gaiety Theatre, helping with An Evening of Dance (an incredible show with just tonight's performance left - do get your tickets if you haven't already)!
We're so excited for everything that's coming, with a huge announcement on Monday! Keep your eyes peeled...
AFTER Editing Timelapse
Here's a little sneak peak into what we're currently up to for our short docudrama, "AFTER". We're sorting through heaps of audio, slowly getting it down to our preferred time of around 8 minutes! It's very time-consuming but we're already beginning to see the film come together.
We've been quite busy, so apologies for the radio silence, however we'd like to once again thank everyone so so much for the donations and shares of the Kickstarter. We reached our goal and we are ever so grateful, as this will allow us to create the best film possible! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates, and if you donated to the Kickstarter, check your emails for a reward survey so we can get your rewards to you.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
WHY DOES THIS FILM MATTER?
(Content warning: rape.)
In 2017, I was raped. For the years after, I avoided my feelings on it. I thought I was alone in the whirl of anger, confusion and numbness. When I began seeing people online talk about their stories, and realised how similar they were to my own, I realised the power in sharing. Listening to each other can inspire others to come forward with their own stories, and perhaps even begin to change the sexist narrative that is pushed on young girls and boys; that girls are objects to be played with, and boys must not share their feelings.
In the UK, 97% of women aged 18-24 have been sexually harassed or worse, with over 70% of all women in the UK experiencing some level of sexual harassment (UN Women UK). Only around 15% of those who experience sexual violence report to the police (Rape Crisis England and Wales), with it being suggested that report rates from males are especially low.
We hope that this film will be seen internationally, and that many people of all genders who may have gone through something similar will finally feel like they are not alone. Maybe they can even begin to share their stories, and lift a weight from their shoulders. For those that haven't been through it, we hope to shed some light on what it can be like, and what you can do to help someone if they come to you with their story.
There's only 4 days left to donate to our Kickstarter, where you can learn more about the film, get tickets to the online premiere, and even an extended interviews book: http://kck.st/3aQjsdN
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. Please help us to spread the message and achieve our goal!
- Georgie
